CT5-V Max tire size (diameter, width) you can put on stock 5BW suspension w/no rubbing?

CT5-V Model
Dunno if it’s easier to see how much fender gap are there. Really the ultimate goal of the lowering springs is to lessen the rear gap. Fronts on stock springs aren’t that bad upfront.

Also found my old alignment specs. Definitely have no camber up front. Probably should have adjusted it to -1 to -1.5. But again, pain in the ass to adjust since you’d have loosen the lower perch bolt, take the upper completely off since it’s knurled, shift, then put everything back together and recheck alignment. It’s basically a pain in the ass, I don’t believe there’s lower arm adjustment/eccentric bolts like in the older Vs.

This, I went with the ECS2 with that in mind since I wasnt 100% of space. Seeing how much space I got, I'll probably go back to 325 PS4s when Im done with these ECS2s. I think im getting there with atleast 15K miles on them by now.
So you’re saying that things are real tight in the rear wheel wells with the 335s, to the point where you’re uncomfortable with clearances? I’m starting to tee up my wheels and tires in anticipation of an early Feb delivery.

I’ve always been a Michelin fan, but wide 335 rear meats are tough competition.

Never mind. I just saw the post where the 325 Michelins are actually wider than the 335 Contis.

No, I mean I wasn’t sure when I was ordering tires. So between the PS4 325 and ECS2 335, the ECS were narrower contact patch wise, so safer bet. Now that they’re mounted on the car, with about -1° of camber, I can see that I have more fender space to run wider tires. 325 PS4 are wider so I’ll probably switch to that over the EXS2 again.

Yeah, look at the specs for contact patch/thread width in tirerack between the 2, you’ll see what I meant.

I gotta find my sheet but definitely something that can be fixed with more camber. The upper perch hole on the car is slotted and thats how you adjust camber. When I did my springs, with the anticipation of the wheels, I pushed the upper as much as I could to get more distance between the top of the wheel and the strut. Its unneeded once I saw how much more space I got once the wheels were mounted.

Its supertucked just because the picture was taken during a turn. Its not that bad really.

Do you track the car with this set up? Any track rubbing issues?

If I may, I suggest you consider the Michelins. I initially was running the Contis in the above size (no spacers needed, even lowered), and they looked stretched, especially on the rear. Great tire otherwise, besides the stretch look.

I burned through the rears pretty quick and decided to try the Michelin PS4s, 285/30/20 front and 325/25/20 rear. Much less of a stretch look, perfectly square sidewall in the rear.

I might try a 295/30/20 in the front next time, as there still a bit more stretch than I like, but overall a better look than the Contis, IMO.

Again, the Contis are a great tire, but the carcass they use in this range ends up compromised on tread width when you get to the 335 size.

I'm hoping that a pair of 315 PS4S (or 5S) when I need to replace the rears fit with no mods. But you are 100% correct, not all tire widths are the same even if they fall into the same obvious spec.
I would like to know this as well.

I just upgraded wheels/tires running 325s in the back in 285s in the front but getting slight rubbbing in front wheels… Added 3mm spacers but still rubbing. Manufacturer recommended going up to 5mm spacers but originally told me that the wheels were made for my vehicle??? 2023 BW..

15 in the front 44 in the rear. The rear wheels went on with no problem...
I'm running a 20x10.5 in the front with a 17mm offset, 285/30/20 tire.

20x11.5 in the rear with a 53mm offset, 325/25/20 Michelin (was 335/25/20 Conti).

I'm also lowered on the Eibach springs.

Zero rubbing, no spacers.

I assume your rubbing is on the inside, which is why you are asking about spacers.

My front wheel is sitting 2mm further inboard than yours and no rubbing, so something isn't adding up.

Yes rubbing on the inside of wheel on the outer wheel lip; maybe suspension. I have the same tire set up, so not sure why the front is not working; need to take a deeper dive into it.

Did you have to use any spacers on the front?
I did not, but I have my camber maxed out and gives me an extra few mm of clearance away from the strut.
