Manual trans owners--both 4 and 5

Have you taken it to the dealer to be assessed?
Yes, they told me I had to get the transmission replaced. Took it to them to get it replaced about a month ago. Still feels the same. Always has a bit of a grind into 2nd

Maybe find a second dealer to take it to. The car I traded in had two replacement transmissions. Based on what they found after the first replacement, I am willing to bet the first replacement transmission wasn’t done right. I will never know for sure. These cars are complicated and there is lots that can go wrong on reassembly

5V BW, 1-2 shift is the best i've seen. Engages like butter. Sorry to hear about your tranny issues.

I took 10 minutes and removed the stickers from my Mondrian edition. Next is black mirror caps and the look I was after is complete. I saved the old stickers as a reference in the event the car is worth more later with them on. I can just have them made. This car shifts the way my first car should have. Finally the Blackwing experience I was seeking all along.

Looks great. With all the carbon fiber you have, consider the carbon fiber mirror caps to tie in nicely.

I ended up going with the black from the dealer. It matches the window trim and I was afraid the aftermarket carbon weave might not match the other factory carbon.

My car is currently at the dealer having the following issue looked at (sound is required):

While it seems obvious in the video, it actually took a long time to diagnose this rattling sound because it appeared to come from the dashboard area. Once I discovered I could make it stop by putting my hand on the shifter, it all made sense. The rattle is most prevalent in 2nd or 4th gears between 2k and 3k RPM but it happens in other gears too.
Did this problem get solved? Mine is doing the same thing.

Question for all the M6 owners--anybody having issues? I've had my 4V for a few months now and after more than 30 yrs of manual cars, this is the worst shifter/tranny combo I've had. I love everything else about the car, but after hearing raves about how good the M6/shifter was on these cars, I'm really hoping mines broke and fixable and that this isn't inherent to the tr6060. Aside from the known 1-2 sticky shift issue common to the tremec(which should be unacceptable on a car like this...) my car can also be difficult to get into 1st or 2nd even when at a stop or with the engine off. Approximately 50% of the time, it shifts well--good positive engagement and one solid "thunk" into gear, but the other 50% of the time it is all over the place. Sometimes its a sorta 2 click/minor grind into gear, sometimes it refuses to go and I have to declutch/re-engage to get it into gear and sometimes it just takes way to much effort. Even with the car off, shifting back and forth between 1st and second is variable. Sometimes its a good solid, easy ,butter smooth chunk and sometimes its a high effort mess. I'm hoping that since I have issues even at rest that the shifter is not properly aligned and this will be an easy fix, but after reading all the issues owners of other brands(and prior gen V owners) have with the 6060 I'm worried I'm going to get the standard "we can't replicate it/it's normal" from the dealer So, anybody else having issues at this point? For reference, the car only has ~900 miles at this point, but the shifter has felt like crap since I drove it off the lot. Even before I started it up, I went through the gears and it just felt off.
Thanks
Scott
I have similiar issues with mine. Occasionally if I'm not paying attention it will slip out of first and grind.
My Camaro, also with the TR-6060 had none of these issues. I'm hoping a fluid change will fix it. If not, I'll see about a warranty issue but, I have a feeling it may just need the shifter mechanism removed and readjusted/reinstalled. It's probably a slight misalignment somewhere.

These new posts are giving me PTSD from my settlement with GM from my old car. The best advice I can give is find a dealership you trust, stay on friendly terms with them, and have them work it out. Keep good records and copies of all documentation, and pray the dealer gets your car fixed so you don’t need the records and documents.

No fluid change is going to fix a manufacturer defect.

I wish you the best for an easy resolution. It sucks to pay a lot of money for a car you love and then have a bunch of headaches.

Yes. The rattle was actually coming from a broken clip attaching the CF console cover/shifter surround to the car. The clip that was broken was forward and to the right of the shifter, below the CF. All this according to the dealership tech that fixed it under warranty.

I've purchased quite a few vehicles new from GM. They like to give me something to fix straight from the factory on every single one.
It's a little gift from their quality control department.

I 97% concur. Just hit 100 miles this weekend on my '25 5VBW PP, and thus far the trans seems very compliant. 2-3, 3-4 etc really are like butter, and 1-2 is just about as close. Of course, I have yet to experience driving the car in weather under 70F, so that's something to consider.

This is the first car I've had, TR-6060 or not, where it is apparently impossible to enter reverse gear without the engine running. Could not figure out for the life of me while sitting on the dealer's storage floor with the car off why I could not get into reverse... No TR-6060 I own or have driven ever had a lockout. Then as soon as I started the LT4, BAM. So easy to get into R. Wacky.

I have almost 4K on my ‘25 CT5. Shifting to 1st, 2nd, and 6th seem clunky compared to 3rd and 4th. Shifting to 4th I can do with one finger. The problematic three need some force.

I hadn’t driven a manual in so long that I figured it was normal for a car with this kind of power.

Thank you to for this thread. Now I know it’s an issue and needs to be addressed.
