Jacking up your Blackwing

I have quick jacks and I have to set them horizontal to the car. Kind of a pain to push them that way. Yes there is a ball bearing hack for quickjacks but haven’t done it yet. Also have to use the really big rubber blocks to not hit the exhaust with the quick jacks.

Do you have any pictures of your method?

For a 4BW, I use the two points in the OP images, also shown in this post.

For the front, I use the hockey puck as a pad on the flat area with the two large holes. For the rear, I use the groove to help grab the rear chassis brace. I've had no issues jacking up one corner at a time this way to swap wheels seasonally.

I don’t have my car yet, but in my garage I use these or some variation on my other cars. I wouldn’t think any auxiliary jack pads/adapters would be needed when taking the car to the shop.

The puck adapter probably works in the rear but I doubt the front.

Where under the car are the blocks contacting? I am not clear where you are lifting from. I have a quick jack and been hesitant to use it on my 4BW.

if you zoom in on the image you can see he has red lift pucks mounted to his car. Similar to the Amazon and ZL1 addons that are linked in this thread.

More ZL1 stuff deilvered yesterday, my second order, added; MagPuck(s), Stealth Tow, 3" Deluxe Jack MagPad. Might put the car up "on blocks" for Winter but have not worked out exactly how. But I got the ZL1 parts to do it. Or for an eventual 2-post lift that I dream of.

The Stealth Lift Pads fit inside the MagPuck but have "wiggle-room". Not a tight fit but evidently as designed (and as discussed on phone with ZL1).

***oops, yeah, website says not for Deluxe MagPad that I bought, but for non-deluxe version. I might need those rectangular attached below . An option if I don't want to leave the Stealth pads on (I don't). Better to use the Stealth for when the car goes in for service.

All five of my factory black lug nuts were gouged from the air wrench when they took off my rear tire to pull out a screw. So that's one thing...

That’s crazy. I have McGard black lug nuts on my Jeep and Discount Tires never messed them up over many tire rotations. Do you have Chinesium nuts.

With my Blackwing my plan is to bring the wheels in without the car. My biggest concern isn’t my nuts, it’s my CCBs.

I was going to do the ‘ball bearing hack’ on my Quickjack but decided to go with casters instead. They do raise the Quickjack off of the ground around 3/4” but there is still lots of clearance (about an inch) under a 5BW. Here is a video of the ones I bought (note: not my video).

Question about the lift point… do the pucks and pinch weld lifting pads only lift with contact on the bottom of the pinch weld. Or, should the lift pad be in contact with the bottom of the weld and contact the frame behind it? I have the ZL1 lift mounts, and they only touch the bottom of the pinch weld, seems unstable to me, like the whole thing could bend to the side? I was considering machining them a bit so that they touch the bottom of the pinch weld and also touch the frame, i feel like it will provide a more stable lift without space between the top top of the lift pad and frame. Your thoughts please. Thank you

I have these and they are magnetic. fit perfect for CT4V BW. Pressure point is bottom of the pinch weld only. Once they click in-they are level with bottom skirt (no carbon). So I use a rubber puck in between it and the jack saddle.

The pinch weld is stronger than you think. It is the attaching point on the car when you have to pull the unibody after a collision.
