Is this normal Cadillac Service?

The Cadillac/ Chevrolet dealership that I mainly use......just completed a new building just for the Cadillac side of the house. That is probably why they raised the hourly rate from last years $190 to the current $220 per hour. The customers need to pay for the new building.

Service doesn't need to be done at a dealer, so there is that. But, sounds like the OP is looking at warranty type repairs so it does need to be a Cadillac dealer.

It definitely sounds like a poorly managed service center, but this is predictable now that dealers have a virtual lock on service. They don't need to be good, everyone comes back anyway. There is no loyalty by consumers on purchase side either, so its just an unfortunate situation with no incentive to be special.

I had a Chevy SS and wanted to take it to a local Buick/GMC dealership. I had excellent service from them particularly from the Service Mgr.

I talked to them about a minor issue with my Blackwing. The Service Manger was reluctant to take it on so I didn't push the issue. Don

Those hourly wages are insane, WAY above what the San Antonio Caddy dealership charges. You sure it's all about the new building? Don

The ridiculous $220 per hour labor rate is just pure greed. (Almost all the dealerships around here charge the same.) I will avoid the dealership for maintenance as much as possible.
