So it was recently announced that Hennessey Performance will be releasing their H1000 package, offering a 1000hp package for the CT5-V Blackwing, but no price was mentioned, and very few details. I reached out to Drew Ross at Hennessy to inquire and figured I'd share what information he had for me.

Price:
$55,000 + transportation costs if you want it shipped to them
$10,000 deposit to hold a spot
50% deposit to be put on the schedule

Result:
Says they expect it to be around 820-860whp and run 0-60 in 2.5sec and 1/4mi in 10.1

Exclusivity:
Said that the H1000 will be limited to 100 CT5-V's, but that they only expect to build about 40

When:
Plan production to begin in 30-60 days

Includes:
  • Stock Bottom End
  • Magnuson TVS 2650 Supercharger
  • High-Flow Air Induction system
  • Custom Grind HPE Camshaft
  • Ported Heads
  • Auxiliary Fuel System Upgrade
  • Upgraded Valve Springs and Retainers
  • Intake Valves
  • Exhaust Valves
  • Lifters
  • Pushrods
  • Oversized Heat Exchanger
  • Longtube Headers
  • High-flow Cats
  • Custom tune
  • Serialized Engine Bay Plaque
  • Wheels
  • Graphics
  • Badging
  • A 2-year / 24,000 mile warranty (only for cars with under 20,000 miles at time of production)

As for the pricing, I figure you would probably pay
$7,500 for the Maggie
$3,500 for Exhaust
$3,200 for Tune
$2,500 for Heads/Cam
$1,000 for Fuel Pump
$1,500 for HX?
$1,500 for Extras?
+ Labor of install

Not really seeing the justification for the $55k for something you can probably have built for $25-30k by anyone else, so you're paying a lot of money for their badges, the "exclusivity" and the warranty.

The reason why is down there near the bottom of what's included...

It's been a long time since Hennessy was for anything but the Cars & Coffee crowd.

With their reputation, they couldn't hold onto my $27,510 in advance.

Agreed. I'm 26k into parts for a build I know will put down 1000whp. Doing the wrenching myself but did get a quote from a top builder for 8k. All said and done I'm figuring to be in the 35k range after calibration and my BW will butt fuck the Hennessey build.

You're also covering their R&D expense.

No R&D for the motor, it's just LT4 stuff that's been there for years. Maybe some for the calibration and badging?

What R&D? It's the same platform the V3 and the C7Z06 ran more or less. They're doing heads/cam/blower - nothing different bout the V5 than the V3 in that regard

I'm not saying R&D covers the full price gap, just that I'm sure they had to do some for this specific application. I agree most of the price is probably the name.

Uh, no. You're paying for the customer whose car has been there a year (cannibalized for parts for someone else's build) who has gone to court to sue them. Before the court date, they give the other person your money.... and so it goes, again again.

I can't believe: (1) they still advertise their business, and (2) people still go there.

Even if your Google-fu is lacking, it should still only take you an hour or to find out what they're all about...

I live about 20 mins from their shop. I was there about a month ago with a friend who getting his Raptor HP increased and it’s packed and very busy, so he must be doing something right, just saying. Friends truck is being built on time and he is a repeat satisfied customer. Lots of dealerships in Texas sell his performance upgraded cars and support the warranty.

I’m also aware of their past as well as you described. I’m NOT endorsing and I’m satisfied with my stock 5BW performance. I will never be a customer and would consider other performance shops like LMR if I ever wanted more performance. Several of my friends are satisfied customers of LMR.

For the record, NOT promoting and of these shops, only stating what I’ve learned from friends I trust.

They have always taken care of local customers even in the prime of their scams, its what allowed them to skirt by all these years.
