CT5-V CT5 Blackwing Deep Ocean Blue?

CT5-V Model
Andrews Cadillac has a Deep Ocean Package allocation available at MSRP. Just passing on that information.

What exactly do they think $27k covers? Seatbelts and a paint job? If they want to think that, go ahead, but it comes with free carbon fiber and seatbacks.

No problem. If Cadillac is selling this as a special package, they need to incorporate the blue seat stitching the LeMonstre had to match the Santorini Blue seatbelts, a door sill plaque, and a serialized VIN or people are going to walk.
I looked up this LeMonstre thing and it seems it has the busy diamond pattern seat centers rather than the smooth ones with vertical stitching.
If everything is black or blue, why are the seat stitchings still red. Let’s not make this package an afterthought.
Having considered getting a 5BW I got pretty excited when I saw this package announced. Was surprised it didn't come with the Performance Pack for the cost but guess most of it is just the two carbon packages (which I would save the cash on so I don't have to drive over every dip super careful like a supercar). But the main thing I was excited for was the possibility I could finally nix the red stitching on the center of the seats. But of course they aren't making bespoke seat inserts for this and it's still red. How are you gonna put a blue steering wheel stripe and blue belts in and still have red stitching? I think it's wild no matter what you spec in these cars you still are forced to get red stitching for the best seat option. Deep Ocean seems fun but I also had a build with Deep Space Metallic with the gold mesh style wheels and just nowhere do I want red accents. That build with no carbon packs was about $128k. With both packs it's $142.5k. Doing a Deep Ocean car with Precision Pack ends up just over $147k. Seems like a ton of money for these cars. I know it's probably sharper yet but that was BMW M5 CS money a few years ago. Anyway rant over.

Of course it's a ton of money, you're talking about a build with 40k worth of options on it if you add all of the carbon and the seats and the precision package. If and when a G90 M5 CS is released, that thing will 100% *start* at over 150k anyway, so at that point you have to decide which car makes the most sense for you.

I just jumped back into the Goat Rodeo some four years later and would have definitely ordered this blue Blackwing due to its exclusivity and cool color (even though I really do not need all the carbon bits) and I would want the top tier seats, but its a hard pass with the red stitching going down the center of these seats as there is no other red in the interior and no way to easily change it out.

Given that none of the pieces in this package are bespoke to the DOB option, and given this option's introduction relatively close to the end of this car's production, they are using it to help manage their inventory of high end parts. Blue stitching would be awesome but I am not holding my breath because that would mean that those seats would be unique to this option. The vast majority of the value proposition is the unique color (for the 5BW; it is shared with the Optiq V) and the allocation availability.

It is strange that since the seats are the same top-tier seats available to any CT5BW, I am surprised they are only allowing black seats. I can see not offering tan (as those come with tan seat belts). But why not sky cool gray? LeMonstre edition had a choice of seat color.

I remember asking about the steering wheel center stripe and brake caliper colors for the Curated by Cadillac program. Apparently you couldn’t change the center stripe or deviate from standard caliper colors. So this blue center stripe is now quite the deviation. Might just be the reason to buy a DOB edition lol. Honestly, I appreciate the customization efforts with curated by Cadillac…it’s a step in the right direction especially with exterior colors but nothing compared to Porsche interiors with all their deviated stitching thread colors, seat inserts, and trim customization possibilities.
