Look what just arrived!

These are the CT4-V Blackwing tuning modules we started working on one year ago this week. Also, downpipes are being picked up at the manufacturer tomorrow and should arrive on Friday.

The wait is finally over, and next week we will officially be tuning CT4-V Blackwings!!! Please email me directly at ScottC@TapoutTuning.com if you have any questions, would like a quote and/or are ready to schedule.

Is this just for local installs or remote tunes?
We are doing the first group of these packages in house for now. This will enable us to dial each car in perfectly on our dyno. There is a lot going on here, and not much available in the aftermarket yet for E99 remote data scanning, tuning, etc. So it might be a while before we figure out good ways to propagate these tunes remotely.

Bummer for us non local but awesome for those getting tuned over there!! Thanks for all the hard work will be waiting patiently for the remote tunes.

Could this work remotely with say a local shop near me like Exodus Performance? Gonna be hard not to void the warranty once it's delivered lol.
Looking at the description of the DCM, it reads like a piggyback tune (coming from my BMW days and looks similar to JB4). Is this a temporary thing until the ECU is cracked for direct flash tunes?

We are not sure the E99 ECM will ever be 'cracked' by the aftermarket. It's hardware and software security are an order of magnitude beyond anything that's come before.

It took an entire year to get to the point where we are today, a place where CT4-V Blackwing cars can legitimately be tuned in person, safely and reliably.

Global B data scanning capabilities are extremely limited at this time. For example, we can't see things like knock retard, wastegate duty cycle and dozens of other important parameters, except for in person.

Eventually we would like to be able to offer remote tuning in some form. However, we won't do it unless and until it can be done securely and without fail.

Thank you for the transparency and explanation behind it all. These new Ecm’s are very difficult to crack, hopefully one day you will be able to see the important info remotely.

From the 4BW platform your working now, once you nail it down, can you launch into the 5BW's for similar tunes down the road?

Yes, now that we have a tried and true Global B tuning method worked out, we do plan to expand once we have all the CT4-V backlog fulfilled. Not sure what we'll expand into next, but we definitely love all the V series cars. ;)
