The compound and design of the tire will absolutely have more impact on what you're feeling than a few lbs per wheel/tire combo. I'm not saying that lighter wheels don't matter, I'm simply saying the difference is so minimal that most people would never notice unless they were measuring it with lap times or acceleration/deceleration equipment. Lighter wheels are absolutely a terrible mod from a bang for the buck standpoint and makes more sense only when you need a second set of wheels such as in your case for different seasons or possibly a track wheel/tire combo vs a street set, or as most people buy wheels for visual appeal.I am not talking about just traction. The way the car feels going into corners and going over pump, the way it reacts to inputs. Yes, the compounds are different.
Again, I reference this video, same wheel size, same exact tire, only change is wheel weight. The differences are VERY minimal and only noticeable when being measured.
