Correct valve position for Corsa installation…

So as of today! Corsa sent me 2 new mufflers with new style valves? not sure what's different, I used a micrometer, and they are a little different not much? but cleared the codes, then unplugged Battey then swapped out the mufflers, then when i plugged the battery back in they cycled, scared the hell out of me! i could hear them cycle. then started the car, they cycled again on their own. drove it no CEL light, cycled the modes they work and so far, no light God i hope they stay the fuck off I would love to know what is different in muffler, Also a huge shout out to Scott at Tapout he was a huge help! plus you guys on here helping with Scanner etc. thanks!
You keep mentioning new valves, what exactly did they send you

They sent me brand new design muffler and new designed exhaust valves the ones that open and close. Not sure what’s different but problem solved

If I had to put my finger on what changed; I’d be willing to bet the weight rate of the springs in the mechanical valves were changed… I’m guessing the rest remained the same.

The springs should be servicable, meaning you could change them out so that wouldnt require whole new mufflers

I’m just guessing based on all the telemetry readings I’ve seen and assisted with over the last several months. From a customer service perspective, it may just bit easier to ship two new mufflers with the corrected valves/springs then sending a customer springs and having them do the install… and if that goes wrong they’re right back where they started. It’s also prob cost prohibitive to RMA both mufflers back, provide a box and padding, ship back to Corsa, repair and ship back….

Send a couple new ones and call it a day. Just a thought.

Agree they are welded together
I asked them if they want the 2 old ones back. Nope toss um. I was like wtf they. Have 28 miles on them
I would agree on spring weight as one of the codes was flow control out of spec like they were not opening under exhaust pressure or something. No idea
But just drove it 65miles on highway no issues.

There's no springs in the flap. They dont have a spring that defaults them to a certain position when the electronic valves arent mated. The stock electronic valves control them fully. The stock electronic valve actually defaults to open when power is off.

What gets most folks are either they didnt put the stock exhaust in open mode before disconnecting the valve controllers off. Or they spring connection between the controller and the flap mechanism fell off.

there are springs on the flaps, my guess is it either stiffer or lighter, i moved it and it seemed lighter.
and for install, I had the electric motors off and on more times than I can count, did multiple re leans with scanner tool, reset the codes probable a dozen times, un plugged battery for over an hour about 10 times, nothing worked, the new mufflers with this new mystery flap and valve system shows up, and i reset code, unplugged battery and installed the mufflers. then plugged battery back in and started the car and no CEL light.
one of the codes was an exhaust flow code? not sure but to my knowledge these measure the opening of the valve at certain RPM and adjust. give you an instance of what I mean, now when i start the car they are wide open even when car is in sport mode. then once it idles down, they seem to close a bit, when i back up or pull out and RPM drops to say 700 ish or so they automatically seem to close as the car get supper quit until i get on the gas?
that seems odd, but the light stays out, so I am happy, this was a pain in the ass, as it took over a month to get this figured out. The only negative is why the hell did Corsa not tell me and ship the new ones out much sooner, i spent over $450.00 of my money trying to fix this when they knew the valves were an issue? anyway, it also seems that the 2024 model year is the more sensitive ones. As I see more 2024 with the issue?

They do not even want the other Mufflers back?? they have less than 30 miles on them LOL anyone want to but them, they are like new! sell them cheap just to recover some of my money

Did anyone have problems connect the driver side exhaust to the cats?

I couldnt get the cats to slide into each other and I get a bit of rattle. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?
