I tried to find some posts regarding installation of a Active Fuel Management Disabler on this forum and pretty much came up empty with any posts about different brands and if they worked. I went on Amazon and purchased the CARBYTE AFM / DFM disabler for $150. There were other , cheaper brands for sale and I checked the reviews and this one seemed to have the best results. I can tell you that I am technologically challenged and it was simple to install and then add the App to my cellphone. Took a whole 2 minutes , without any issues. Now my car will supposedly run in V8 mode all the time , unless I turn it off with my App. My 5BW doesn't come with auto stop/start feature....but this device would deactivate that, if it had it. I might buy another one of these for my Kia Telluride. For 3 years I never had the auto stop/start feature turn on and I liked it like that. Took the car in for a software update and now the stop/start is functioning. I hate it. I wish you could just push a button and bypass it. If I buy another CARBYTE, I wont have to think about it.
Now, I have to take a nice long ride to my summer home and see if the car stays in V8 mode. I do realize that my gas mileage will drop. Don't care.
