Well for some reason I never received one from Cadillac. I own a 2022 CT-5 BW and am the original owner. Did I have to request one?

Yep, you'll have to contact Cadillac to request it.

You can call the Cadillac customer care line at 1-833-223-4227 M-F 8am-6pm EST and provide them with your VIN #. I called them last week regarding my Blackwing badge and found them to be very cordial.
