Any way to retro fit the media knob on to MT?

Is there any reason that the media knob isn't on the MT? Like why didn't they pop it in that little cubby, it looks to be the same size as the space taken up by the knob on the AT. they already made the center console smaller & moved the cup holders back, why remove the knob?

Can this be retrofit on to the MT? or does anyone know of an aftermarket "remote" or something like that that can be used with the Google built-in?

I'm curious about this as well. I think it would be interesting to buy a "infotainment controller" and try connecting it to the appropriate CANBUS. I suspect it'll just work.

(What I really want is a way to pause siriusxm via a button -- clearly the infotainment box cannot do this...)
