2026 Cadillac CT5-V BW
Picked up my CT5 V BW on 3-13-26 and took it in to swap to all seasons on 3-27-26 with less than 100 miles on the odometer and they offered to check the alignment, which they did. Went to the dealership to schedule an alignment and the service writer looked at me like I was crazy, even after showing him the print out. Anyone else have their vehicle need an alignment at delivery?

I can't say that I am surprised. Almost every new car I have ever bought has needed an alignment right off the showroom floor, especially the performance cars. Plus, I generally like to max out the camber and run zero-ish toe anyway.

I bought my 5BW used with 9,700 miles on it. Shortly after purchasing the car, I noticed on the freeway that the steering wheel wasn’t centered—the red stripe was slightly left of center while driving straight.

I took it to the dealer for an alignment and was told Cadillac only covers alignments under warranty during the first 12 months. Since my car was already 15 months old at the time, I ended up paying $160 out of pocket.

After the alignment, the steering wheel is now perfectly centered.

It made me wonder if the car may have come from the factory that way and the original owner just lived with it. Personally, there’s no way I could ignore something like that—it would’ve driven me crazy.

I had same issue in 2024 when new…car pulled to one side when steering wheel center stripe was centered. Dealer said give it some time to let suspension settle lol. I had them drive it and they did the free alignment.

I had them do the track alignment before I picked it up. The before alignment specs were terrible. Especially the toe on one of the rear wheels. If GM will align it free within the first 12mo, then I recommend taking advantage of that if you have steering that does not feel 100% perfect.
