2023 CT4-V BW
Hi everyone, I'm new here and this is my 1st posting.

I figured this would be a good place to post this. I've been thinking on switching from a manual 4BW to a manual 5BW. Main reason for wanting to switch is because as many of us know - the 4BW lacks legroom for the back passengers. I prefer the 5BW since I'm finding myself having back passengers more than I anticipated lol.

My question to you all - Would any one here be willing to trade their manual 5BW for my manual 4BW? Off course I'm wanting everything to be equal or be a fair exchange so we both win. My 4BW is a 2023 manual, with currently 21K miles. I don't care too much for whatever miles you have on your 5BW, as long as it's a manual; I might be picky with exterior/interior color, but not a deal breaker. If anyone is interested, please message me so we can discuss further.

Thanks everyone!

You will have to offer lots of $$$ along with your 4BW. The original stickers are not very close to each other. Used value has probably widened that gap.

Glad I am into big arses! Love my 4door!

@668LT4 - I agree! I definitely would be happy with the power upgrade. So with the power upgrade and the upgrade in legroom, I'll be a happy camper.

@MookdocOE - Yes, love how the BW's are 4 doors. Just adds to it's practicality. Imagine if it was a coupe like an M4...the BW's would then lose it's practicality.

@CBH - You're correct, going to a 4BW to a 5BW will be costly. However, I'm looking to either break even or get close to it. I think the only way to achieve this is trading my 21K mi 4BW to a high-mileage (100k mi and up) 5BW. I've attached a photo of a 2022 5BW with about 100k mi that sold or at least listed for around $60k.

If anyone here has a 5BW that has 100k mi or more and would consider switching to a 4BW with 21k mi, let's talk about the details. I don't mind the high milage, off course as long as its been properly maintained.

Have you driven a 5V BW? You might miss the nimble nature of the CT4 BW…

@seattlecubes – Yes, I’ve driven a 5BW; only via test drive though while I was at the dealership. I do appreciate and enjoy the nimble nature of the 4BW. Wish I could test drive a 5BW for a day and take it out to the canyons to see how the cornering is and if it’s something that I can get used.

@MookdocOE – Really! Man, so you’re saying the turning radius is significantly worse than the 4BW? The 4BW turning radius already annoys me and of the many cars that I’ve driven, the 4BW has to be the worse; now I can’t imagine just how worse the 5BW is.

@rubberduck – I bet…however, if one wanted to make a u-turn from a stoplight, they would have to step on the throttle and intentionally try to drift to complete that u-turn lol. Would be a good technique to counteract the terrible turning radius.

@FLYARMY – I wonder if there’s any aftermarket front seats that would be more space saving than the OEM ones? I do feel that the OEM ones are thick, so I’m thinking less thicker seats would create slightly more legroom for the back passengers. Based on some of the inputs here so far, I’m not liking the sound of how much worse the turning radius on the 5BW is. In addition, I know it won’t be as nimble as the 4BW. I do really like the idea that the 5BW off course has more power and torque…but I don’t care too much for that since I can always get a tune on the 4BW and it’ll feel just as fast at the 5BW.

Based on what you have already said, the turning radius on the 5 is definitely going to bother you in low speed, tight situations (u-turns, parking lots). Tight turns on the road, it's fine.

Actually, it is the Supercharged LT4 V8 for most of us who bought one. I would have been even happier with no back seat if they offered it!!
Isn't that just a C7 Z06?

Yes, the 5BW is Raw, Comfortable and just a unreal joy to drive and have both RAW and SUBLIME whenever you want either situation. The turning radius is comical without question is all I can say!

Thanks all for your replies and insights. So, for those that have a 5BW, given that the turning radius is comical and probably very annoying, how do you all live with it? lol...do you just get used to it and learn to live with it or do you regret it and maybe have wished you've gotten a 4BW? And for those that have owned or have driven both a 4BW and 5BW, just how much worse is the turning radius? Would you say it's significantly worse or is it slightly worse?

I wish Cadillac just made a wagon version of the BW. If they did and say it had a terrible turning radius, I probably would complain, but it probably won't be a deal breaker since I would appreciate the cargo space and hopefully decent legroom. I'm bias since I love fast wagons (especially if it's a manual)...but the old CTS-V Wagon wasn't really my cup of tea.

Good question! I don't own or have driven the 4BW but a little piece of my heart wants that car with manual for it's size, weight, nimbleness etc. I love my cruiser but she's not overly big by any means it's just those moments where your caught off guard because you forget at least I do that this things turning radius is like wtf?

I bought the 5BW because I take adult passengers in it most days and the 4BW wouldn't work (I'm 6'2"). I have driven 2 different 4BW 6sp cars and LOVED the way they drove, enough that I keep thinking about getting one to pair with my 5BW.

The turning radius is dumb but I really don't think about it too much. I work in downtown of a large city and some of the streets are very tight and narrow but 90 degree turns aren't a big deal. U turns take a little more effort but whatever - the car is so incredible to drive a minor annoyance like that passes under the bridge quickly. Plus, lighting the tires up at 80mph in 3rd doesn't ever get old.

Yeah, the turning radius is annoying, but like you already said - definitely not a deal breaker. What's arguably worse is that you have to hold the traction control button down for 8 solid seconds to turn it completely off so that the throttle could assist in those U-turns. :)
