V-Series Cadillac(s)?
Looking to buy 2025 Le Monstre Edition or 2026
About a month ago I put a deposit on a CT5-V Blackwing that the salesman told me was in 3400 event code status for a couple weeks. He also said that until it gets a VIN (3800 status) we can't do any paperwork on it. I have $100K burning a hole in my pocket. I just want to sign on the dotted line so that I know it's mine and it's really happening. Does anybody have any idea how long they stay in 3400 status? I need to know how long until it is in 3800. This is killing me! Every day feels like an eternity.

I'm guessing your dealer really likes you.

Last model year, my 4BW took a month to go from 3400 to 3800 near the end of MY25 production. This is the beginning of a new model year so it may take longer. It's called the goat rodeo for a reason.

Can be quite a while. I'm not sure they have started building 2026 MY blackwings yet, but it should be soon. For me I was at 3400 for a solid month. What's even worse is the shipping, I was at Built ready to ship (4000) at beginning of May. It has shipped now, but that's also been about 2 weeks so far and is still not close enough to have a good eta. I am hoping for by end of June.

If MY 2026 is anything like 2025, then August or maybe even early September is a realistic potential. That is when I was seeing 2025s first come in at my local dealers. But that was an model refresh and maybe those are a little slower to be available.

It's a 2025.

"preferred" buyer
How much did you give for your deposit? Did your dealer give you your build code?
I put $2K down. He sent me a screenshot of the GM Locator screen which says “Detail report for customer” and order# and a stock# (which is probably a dealership thing). When I first asked about it he is the one who said it was in 3400 status and said we couldn’t do paperwork until we got to 3800 status. I’m new to this so I had him explain it to me like I’m 5. It does have CF 1&2 so I’m hoping that’s the hold up.

What do you mean by "preferred" buyer? This is my first time so I have no idea what the lingo means.

I thought 2025 production was over. 2026s are being built from recent posts. A 2025 order that was not completed gets canceled and the order has to be placed/started/allocated all over again. Might not be the news you want to hear.

@shbox ..that's exactly what I thought too

@C4DZILLA ....if this is true, I think you need a sit down with someone at your dealer who knows....or at least can find out. Not the sales guy, probably the GM. Wish you luck.

If you go to Cadillac.com, open the chat bot, tell it track order, it will ask for the order number, type that in and it will tell you where you're at. There's already 2026s getting built so if it's actually 3400 you'll be getting a 26.

Thanks. I did that and got this response:
Looking up your vehicle status by Vehicle Order Number...###### Your vehicle order has been accepted by General Motors and is moving toward the production process. Please keep in touch with your dealership for the most up-to-date information, or check back later for a status update.

I've seen people post timelines for their cars. How do I get this info? TPW? How exactly should I word my request so that I get exactly the information I am looking for?

Thank you all for your helpful info.

The order number would have to change for it to be a 2026. The old order number is apparently hung up in the system. No 2025s that were in the pipeline will be built now that 2026s are.

Or it was actually submitted as a 2026 all along. 2026 orders were open first week of May. Not sure when first allocations went out.

Where are we getting the information that 2026s have started production? Is this directly from Cadillac or is this from a site like GM Authority? I ask b/c as good as sites are they are not the manufacturer.

Also, 3400 means that it is being built, right? It doesn't go to 3400 and not get built? So there is a possibility that things have not been updated properly in the system.

What questions should I ask my salesman? What is the name of the report that shows the dates when the order went through each production code....1000, 1100, 1101, 2000....

I got this from an Advisor on the Cadillac website just now:

"I do not see any additional information on this. I see similar to what the virtual assistant stated before that the order has been accepted and Cadillac is working towards the production. As for the report, I'm not sure if there would be a specific name of that form. I would suggest asking your salesperson if it is possible to get a report showing the various order status updates and dates of when the order status changed."

Well they're definitely building 2026 CT5 and CT5-V but I haven't seen any BW show up in inventory tracking yet. Honestly unless it's like a printout I would trust GM Authority over most dealers.
Post in thread 2026 allocation

I believe the report you're looking for is "Event History"

@C4DZILLA ....Dude...it's simple. Not to be a jerk, but we here only know what ALL of us have heard or read. YOU need to GO to your dealer and ask to SEE any and all info on this car. Write down all the event codes from the sticky on this forum. Start with, what year is this car? Ask to see the order sheet with the six digit order number. Let them pull any info about the order from THEIR system. Check if it has ALL the options you want/asked for. I would deal directly with either the sales manager or the stores general manager....NOT the sale guy. Unless he's highly schooled on ordering, You're wasting your time. You might want to call and make an appointment.

Again, I wish you luck.

JERK! J/K I appreciate your candor. Looks like I'm going to have to hop on a plane and speak with someone. I checked Cadillac.com and there are 145 2026 CT5-V listed in inventory with 2 actually being available now. I even found one going to the dealership I'm ordering from.
