3,000 miles, rotors warped, GM won't replace

My front rotors are warped and need replacing. 3000k miles and apparently GM is refusing to cover the replacement. Thoughts?

My patience is wearing thin......BMW would replace these no questions asked.

There's a good chance that they aren't actually warped. There very well could be pad deposits on the rotor. Check the manual for burnishing instructions and see if that doesn't solve the problem.

Thank you for the reply. I was originally thinking this was the case, so I did go through a series of burnishing and the problem did not improve, perhaps worsened.

FYI GM replaced our rotors front at 7000 miles no questions asked, you might want to push it up chain of command.

That's kind of odd that the front rotors would be giving you a hard time at only 3,000 miles. Have you been doing intense track days or something? I would definitely get a second opinion and maybe push it up the escalation ladder like someone mentioned in one of the above posts to see if GM can go ahead and make an exception and help you out.

They are not warped. Do a search on a topic in google and IA will tell you all about it. Sorry tired of typing the same thing every time this question comes up 3 times a week.

This might sound cazy but do you have other dealers in your area? The advisor might be saying GM won't replace it but maybe they didn't try...

Any chance another shop or you have ever removed the wheels that the dealer would be aware of? If so, there's a small chance they think the issue is that over tightening of lugs caused the problem. That said, I'm going with pad deposits. I wasn't able to complete the craze burnishing instructions on the local highway after midnight for fear of running into the police. It wasn't until I did a power lunch HPDE session that I was able to properly burnish the rotors. I don't recall having as much issue with the replacement rotors I put on a couple of years ago.

Since the OP made the BMW reference...if the BW was made by BMW it would be 20%-30% more expensive to cover your "free" maintenance and rotors. Brake rotors are a consumable in my book, but as others have said find a different dealer and try again.

I was going to mention over torquing the lug nuts. Or uneven torque.

thread is getting silly, but i find it impossible to ruin a rotor at 3K miles on a blackwing no matter what you do to them aside from going mudding . This should be fixed by GM

In MOST cases that I have seen here and on FB since the 2016 ATS-Vs, if you pursue this with GM they will turn them, which never fixes the issue of driving habits/style/conditions. They will then be installing a new set a month or so later either on their or your dime. And then the same issue will reappear after about the same interval.
I have also experienced the same issue having bought the car with 12k miles and "warped" brakes. My normal style of driving is not conducive to the development of this issue and the issue was completely resolved within a few weeks of normal driving and never returned.

take the rotors off, then sand them down till you remove the pad deposits. Then do the break in procedure again.

You added more uneven pad deposits and made it worse. Take the rotors off, sand them down, then burnish them again. Do you do lots of city or urban driving? That's going to make pad deposits uneven. I do some hard braking out on the backroads to the point of ABS engaging, I'm at 7k miles and no rotor issues for me.
