Maybe I'm not truly the Blackwing's target audience, but I deliberately ordered mine without the CF packages.

I would've asked GM to shove the Blackwing's drivetrain in a base CT4 body if that was an option, lol.

And why the heck does GM not have an individual program for Cadillac like its competitors? Audi, MB, BMW all have it. I wanted mine with Midnight Sky but they don't offer it on the V.

Chat bot said car was produced, not showing up as in transit though yet on inventory, another car same dealer did show up in transit see what happens this week

I'm wondering if you're in the same boat as me.

My car was caught up in a wind storm and it is in a holding area needing assessment on if it was damaged or not. If not damaged then it will ship. My car was ready to ship, but has sat in Lansing for over a month. I just recently found out I am at status 4D00, which is on hold for QC. Sometimes 4D00 is for normal periodic additional QC checks and sometimes its because they found a problem and need to fix something.

If it is damaged then my dealer will be given an allocation to replace it on the upcoming allocation end of this week. I was told this was information I can share, but I wish this info wasn't so hard to find out on a customer order.
Worst case for me is I'll get a 2026 and will have to wait to around September for delivery assuming there isn't a freak wind storm that comes up again.

Not sure. The letter I was shown was dated July 18th. I do not know when the wind event happened.
my 2025 wasn't built until first week of June.
It could also just be that any quality control issues are taken extra long due to demands on the QC team from the wind event too.

Not necessarily. Allocations are weekly.

Allocations are based on the volume of that car the dealer does. If you've picked a high volume dealer the wait could be short. Others, like me, waited close to five months just for the allocation. It's called the goat rodeo for a reason sadly.

GM does almost everything possible to dissuade you from doing a custom order. They'd much rather you pick something up from a lot that's already built.

The one I went to was out of town for me, they had a manual one in stock and on display. However prior to that they did have quite a few Blackwings appear and disappear off their inventory (went straight from "In Transit" to gone), so I guess they do have sufficient order volume.

You should at least have an order number. That doesn't sound right-especially for Sewell. Do you have a car optioned with CF1 and 2?

Something is wrong, here. When you spec a car with the dealer, you get an order number when they input into GMWorkbench. That is the first step and the order # is immediately produced. There is no waiting. If they don't input it, you have no order and will never get an allocation. Hopefully there is just some miscommunication. You should be provided a copy of the order with your options listed on it.

That said, Dustin/Blackwing King at sewell put my order in the day I emailed it to him and emailed back the build sheet which included pricing and the order number. I ended up going a different direction but seems strange to me that Sewell wouldn't be consistent.

For my sizable dealer in Michigan, I was told 4 months for a non CF blackwing. And a year for a BW with CF. Apparently there are 4 people ahead of me who will wait for CF and it’s predicted that it will be a year wait until an allocation comes through for a CF package. This is okay with me, but wasn’t to put it out there to compare with others. I did not receive an order number or anything like that. I didn't ask but it’s so far out I’ll check in in a couple months to see if any CF cars were built for customers ahead of me.

Also if the wait will be too long I’m okay with ordering OEM CF separately after getting a non CF car. Just trying to figure out part numbers for 26, but I’m sure this is in the CF parts thread already.

Crapshoot! I had two delivered within 10 days of being built others during the initial rodeo waited months. I’m sure I was very lucky. One built in 22 the other in 24. No rhyme or reason any of it good luck.

This makes sense to me. I feel as though desire and desperation will rob me of choice and I’ll end up going after market for the wing and can very much live without scratching the front CF lip. If any ‘26s get built with CF this summer then I may wait longer. I mean, wtf do I know? I’m nuts.

I don't believe that is accurate. As I understand it, there has to be an order before an allocation can be given. Allocations are parsed based on the orders in the system at the time. It would make no sense to give a coveted allocation to a dealer that has no order waiting to get one.

Plenty of resources out there that state this, particularly from the Corvette guys. Here's one. About a minute in he starts discussing order submission and plainly states that a lot of dealers don't believe in submitting orders until they have allocation.

In a common sense world you'd be correct but the GM ordering process is byzantine.
