Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

2022 Rolex 24 hrs at Daytona

The Cadillacs did 3 laps Fri night around 7PM on the Daytona Speedway road course. I had a photographer get some pics but not sure how long I will be before I get them. The Cadillac team, Brandon, Tony, and Meagan did over an hour of Q&A that was awesome. It was really cold so those that were lucky enough to get into the Cadillac suite really had it made. It was great talking to Tall Steve on the first day too.

The logo on the DPi race cars is marketing tied to promoting the brand and expansion in the use of the V performance academy. This is seen on the 01 car text above the logo. The 02 car says Cadillac Accessories.

It was a pleasure meeting you as well! I had a blast and got to meet/hang out with some Cadillac royalty at times! The new V-Escalade is bad to the bone!

was there a Cadillac paddock (EDIT: corral)? I'd love to see pics of the V's all parked together

Yes right near the Chevrolet gate and for some unknown reason I never took a pic except for Fri morning. There was a wagon with a unique color, some CT6s with the Blackwing engine, many CTS Vs, CT4 and 5 Vs, no Championship editions, and some but not that many 2022 Blackwings if you don't count the two from Detroit. Although the amount of cars there varied daily to almost none at night.

Did you hear it start up?
Yes, I was in the right place at the right time with my Cadillac connection and I got a ride over to where it was and the two lead engineers fired it up for us!! I have a video but I don't know how to download it here because of file size....It sounds awesome! Anyone thats friends with me on FB can see and hear it..

Does it seem like the 5BW engine?

Here’s a video.

I learned something new in Daytona. The sound is not on the PDR by default or mine is broke. Don't see it mentioned in the manual so when it warms up I'll try to find the setting. Would have went faster if not for the Escalade in front lol

The banking @ Daytona is neat

it’s a shame that you didn’t get to experience it at speed .

That was another no no except the front stretch. I'd like to do this again at Petit just to experience the hills.

If you use VLC you will hear it.

Daytona is a fun track. I race there every year with WRL.

It's not the most technical track but the banking is fun once you get used to it. One off the most fundamental aspects of driving is geared around putting your eyes where you want to go. This is something that you can't really do on the banking because all you really see at 150mph is tarmac and sky. A little off putting at first but you get used to it quickly. It's also a track that you can be patient at in endurance racing. You don't have to be super aggressive in the infield because the straights are so long that the cars for the most part sort themselves out organically.

A few pics of me racing there a couple of years ago in the 14hr race:

This was one of the other cars in my team having a 150mph oopsie daisy by the start finish line.

Not a scratch. :)

My first practice laps there. Gained a couple of seconds unpuckering into turn one so race pace was around 2:07. They pull power from the GT4 for BoP reasons.
