Don’t blame the “American” car. Did you take the 90 seconds to inspect the pads/rotors yourself? Based on your post (and the OP) seems most likely that you’re just getting ripped off, replacing parts that don’t need replacement…. And that’s not the cars fault…
Absolutely thrilled we my '24 4BW which I picked up November '23. Most of my miles has been taveling on the interstates which has been fairly easy on the car. But I'm puzzeled with the brakes because at 6,250 miles I needed new front rotors because they warped, the dealer replaced them under...
At Spring Mountain a few weeks ago I mentioned that I had swapped out front pads for Ferodo 2500s and didn't disconnect battery. The instructor told me I was lucky to not have any issues because supposedly the car does periodic tests on itself such as adding brake pressure to make sure they...
I LOVE ECR!!!
I didn't buy the wing to track it but I did take it out for three sessions at COTA this Summer - went to SRF fluid and did the brake vent mod (for cooling). No fade at all. Stock pads. Stock tires. Just a tick over 500 miles on the car. Hit 150+ (maybe 160?) on the back straight...
you have a link for a set of ceramics? I bought cheap pads for daily and got a set of new oems in the trunk., my originals got pretty worn about 70-80 % pads used 1 track day 4 sessions, but the performance was very impressive for oem pads, we use hawks and g-locs in our race cars. now looking...
...brake rotos something awful. One other thing about CMP, the paddock area is mostly sand so it's very easy to pick up stuff between the brakepads & rotors. The pads still have life in them but I got a new set of DBA XP Performance BrakePads from KNS Brakes on Closeout.
This is the front...
I was going to replace rear brakes after the track this weekend. I pulled the oem rear pads and noticed the pad doesn't maximize the area of the backing plate. I always thought you wanted the maximum amount of pad on the rotor. Just curious if anyone has an idea why there are the 2 cutouts on...
I remember a post from someone who said that he obtained the parts from a salvage 5BW and installed them without any software changes, and indicated that they worked "fine". I say this because I suspect that GM may not be forthcoming with whatever software changes exist between a CCB car and a...
No. By now I would think the aftermarket pad manufacturers have replacement pads with the brake sensor cutouts. I only have 12,000 miles on my 22 so won't need pads for a while but when I do I will get the Powerstops again but hopefully with the sensor cutout. Although I don't need the...
...Extreme Contacts.
KW V3 Coilovers, ADDCO swaybars - on and on and on.....
38,000 highway miles - this car is STILL running the factory brakepads !
Gorgeous, needs virtually nothing, mechanically and visually stunning. Never had a Ck. Engine Light, never missed a shift (including reverse)...
Update: installed Ferodo 2500 front pads from KNS Brakes. Did the burnishing this morning and they immediately have more bite than the OE pads without being grabby. Will report back after a doing some more driving. The Ferodos have the slot for the OE brake pad sensor, too, unlike some pads...
...brake numbers?
Trying to order parking brakes that will fit the carbon ceramics in the rear. Standard iron ones have to be different. The part number for the parking brakepads seems to be the same, but GMs website is full of issues.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

....... and makes 500 ft. lbs. @ 3250 rpm.
38,000 ORIGINAL MILES... All highway as proven by the fact that this V still runs the factory brakepads it came with from the dealership !
Mechanically and visually stunning. Needs absolutely nothing. Many more pics to come - will be on Bring A...
...would shred the rotor in a few hard applications. They are vastly different materials. Don't mistake Carbon-ceramic brakes with ceramic brakepads. They aren't the same.
I ask because I'm guess that GM hasn't made CCB-specific pads that'll work with the non-CCB-calipers.
I don't understand...
...this set up on the street and shorter tire life is part of the price of admission and I am fine with that tradeoff. However, I was doing brakepads yesterday (installing the SR-11s to clean up some pad deposits as recommended elsewhere on this forum) and noted some pretty significant wear...
I had front rotors replaced twice under warranty for vibration under braking (front pads replaced once too). It kept coming back until I had the front pads changed from OEM to a semi-metallic pad (Hawk HPS). After a month or so of those, the problem was gone and hasn't come back. I use cruise...
