    CT4 Blackwing at Sonoma

Let's pick up some activity in this section! Took my CT4 to Sonoma this weekend, lots of fun. Love the car and PDR. Found the OE tires get greasy after a couple hot laps, I would have to do a couple fast laps, cool down, then go again. Only thing I'm still trying to get used to is the e boost...

CT5-V Retrofitting carbon ceramic brakes to 5BW?

Yes. The CCB pads are completely different compound. Since the BW is 'brake by wire' you also need to tell the computer you are running carbon vs iron rotors. It's not simply a mechanical swap.

New CT5-V Blackwing Owner - First thoughts and impressions

Yep, they (SM) did. Had the Track Alignment & DOT4 brake fluid as the only mods.

    CT4-V Brake ducts install

Ohhh I just realized for our CT4s, its only the rear ducts and smaller front dust shield. No front ducting like the 5s. The bag I have says DEFLECTOR KIT-FRT making me think its a front kit. I should have read the manual in there LOL Ok I think I wont bother installing then..

    CT4-V CT4BW JB4 Review on 91 Oct with Datalog

I have not unfortunately. On the three track days that I have done I've always left it on the stock power. The stock brake pads were having mild fade issues on the long straights, adding a few MPH above stock speeds and harder stopping was not something I would have liked to do personally...

For Sale CT4V Blackwing EBC SR-11 Brake Pads

I have a full set of EBC SR-11 pads for the 4BW, Fronts have half a track day on them (basically new) and rears are brand new in the box. These are the best pads you can install on a Blackwing, they last a very long time and are drivable on the street without being loud as a bus like other...

New CT5-V Blackwing Owner - First thoughts and impressions

This is me at VIR in the 5BW. Wasn't even pushing it hard & also braking way early at the end of the back straight. No brake fade at all even with using the brakes too much per lap -- But you be you & if changing to a more aggressive brake pad gives you more confidence at the track, then do it.

    CT5-V Replacement Brake Pads??

Ive searched as far and wide as im capable so its time to ask here. I have the carbon ceramic option on my 23 5BW, and the front pads are terribly noisy at 5k Miles (they also are kind of grindy sounding or metal on metal sounding at super low speeds). Has anyone had any luck finding replacement...

New CT5-V Blackwing Owner - First thoughts and impressions

Most of us have done spring mountain (SM) and other bigger tracks, the OEM pads are up to the task. Same with coolant, SM abuses these cars in the desert summer without issue.

CT4-V Intermittent Front (?) Suspension Noise

I was going to say brake pads before I even read that you replaced them. My troubling shooting always goes back to the last thing I did, so I can almost guarantee it’s the pads. These Brembo calipers are known to have this issue, particularly with non-oem pads that don’t fit as well or without...

    Track Day Tires

...on a recent session? Not counting Spring Mountain this is my 5th track day. Presently have 2.7 front and 1.7 rear camber, Porterfield brake pads and Castrol SRF brake fluid with stock tires. I tried slicks the following day. When you get to the black flag from the accident, skip ahead to...

CT4-V Intermittent Front (?) Suspension Noise

Coming back with a rare "I think I've got this one figured out" update. Hope this helps someone in the future. My thought from July was correct - The Powerstop pads rattling in calipers over bumps. I removed each front pads and applied an even coat of CRC Disc Brake Quiet across the entire...

5BW - am I crazy for wanting more initial brake bite on the iron rotors?

I am wondering if anyone has gone with different brake pads to make the initial bite a little stronger? I have tried the brakes extensively in all 3 pedal modes but none of them really improve that initial feeling when getting on the brakes. Yes, the pads work well when you are really on them...

New CT5-V Blackwing Owner - First thoughts and impressions

Hard to gauge a car I haven't driven on track through a video of a track I've only driven on a sim, but I think I'm a lot more aggressive, especially on brakes. Also, VIR gives a lot of cool down time between hard stops. My home track has a lot of hard braking zones closer together. (this is...

    Michelin PS4S issue

Just use the ones you bought and zip tie off the sensor. Many of our replacement pads don't yet have the sensor cutout.

    Anyone need Brake Pads?

    Michelin PS4S issue

...brakes issues. A) It needed new brakes after 21,000 miles, and apparently there is a several week backlog at GM dealers for brembo OEM brake pads. B) I wound up purchasing KNS pads so I could get my car back, however when I received them yesterday, while the correct brake pads...., they...

    2023 Brake Upgrades?

I haven't tried them on my 5BW, but I've had good luck with Akebono pads in the past. Lot less brake dust BUT your emergency stopping distance is going to increase anytime you go with a harder (less porous) pad in my experience.

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

...all seem to be wearing evenly. I thought baby might be needing a new pair of shoes soon but looks like it can probably wait. Changed the brake pads as they were almost down to the sensors. Interestingly, there's a brake wear sensor on the driver's front & px rear only -- not all 4 corners. I...

CT5-V The Eagle has landed (finally)

Do you still have the link for that Ebay dash? I have a suede dash cover now hiding lots of ugliness... How is the BBK? If it is the same as https://store.uucmotorwerks.com/big-brake-kit---wilwood-dynapro-caliper-1175-rotor-front-84-91-e30-325320318-all-incl-ix-p563.aspx, which I presume it...
