Is it possible to record the front and rear camera with the builtin dash cam? I've done a little research and assume the answer is 'no', but thought I'd ask the smart crowd before giving up completely.

While driving? Not for the PDR, but the surround vision camera/recorder does this plus it will record from both your side mirrors too.
Definitely while driving. I have mine set to always record and it actually caught a car hitting my wife's car (she was driving right in front of me) last Father's Day . I showed the video the police on site and downloaded the clips and sent them to insurance--> 100% other drivers fault. Wife is ok, but her 6 month old gv80 was totaled (got a brand new one). One of these days I'll get around to loading the video clips on here.
Is just not the best as a sole security camera. Has caught my kids trying to open the door without the key nearby (even titles the clip as 'theft', but missed someone keying my doors (thank goodness for ppf).
Crap, I have a 22... But am looking to grab a 26 since it's last model year for this iterationI have a '24 so I have it, but I have heard that the '25 & newer don't record the surround cameras.
The infotainment system and interface is so worth it. But we're a Google family, so having it built into the car fits very well.Crap, I have a 22... But am looking to grab a 26 since it's last model year for this iteration
This is correct. "Surround Vision" was removed for 25 and 26.I have a '24 so I have it, but I have heard that the '25 & newer don't record the surround cameras.
I might be old, but despite how much I would want this, there is likely NO feature I would be willing to pay a subscription for. This is correct. "Surround Vision" was removed for 25 and 26.
GM was supposed to be developing a new subscription based software feature that would have made this footage accessible via Onstar but it was never pushed to our cars. (at least, not yet)
BMW didn't even learn....I might be old, but despite how much I would want this, there is likely NO feature I would be willing to pay a subscription for.
I thought car companies learned the lesson after BMW tried the subscription for heated seats...
*sigh*
The worst part about it is that I assume it’s cloud based. I don’t want this stuff in the hands of any company. I have SVR and still installed aftermarket front and rear dashcams. It’s not a big deal. This is correct. "Surround Vision" was removed for 25 and 26.

... Especially because whatever your cameras are catching is likely straight out of the latest GTA releaseThe worst part about it is that I assume it’s cloud based. I think this was a rumor that didn't come to fruition. The revamped Android Automotive SVR is not cloud-based and does not require a subscription. This is correct. "Surround Vision" was removed for 25 and 26.
