2026 allocation

From GM to the dealers they really really want you to just buy something on the lot. The whole system is setup to dissuade you from putting in your own order. You have to know this going in that it will be an uphill battle. It is called the "Goat Rodeo" for a reason.
The funny thing is, the dealer literally tried to modify their in-stock order to add the options I wanted when that spec sheet was already half-way there, and apparently GM rejected it so I had to put a new one instead. The said car just arrived at their lot, and I'll probably be locked in the finance office listening to warranty and add-on sales pitches right now if they did change it up.

Your average car sales person is only trained on how to sell you what is on the lot. The entire system is geared towards that. As soon as you want a custom order from the factory, you should be asking to work with the sales manager who is generally the only person who can enter orders into GM workbench and understands the allocation process. Even then you probably won't get very definitive answers from them. From GM to the dealers they really really want you to just buy something on the lot. totally get it. with a GT500 it was similar. ADM game was strong then too . i found one on a lot and ended up pulling the trigger.

Update: Planned production week is 09/15.

Extrapolating your timeline, it is giving me hope I may still get my car this year, considering mine doesn't have any CF packages.

I found out I’m getting screwed by Cadillac.
My ct4 was damaged and being totaled out. But Cadillac didn’t mark it as so in time for the July 24th cut off for replacements and now apparently at the back of the line and allocation is lost.

Obviously my dealer isn’t happy and trying to work things out. Needless to say it’s frustrating.

But I’m debating if I should stretch my budget to get a basic 5BW instead of a nicely equipped 4BW. Most of my drives are windy mountain roads and need to drive the in mild winters with ice.

Well I hope your dealer is going to help you escalate this up to corporate office.

As for your debate... I simply wouldn't do it out of principle, it wouldn't feel right to reward Cadillac a higher-dollar sale when they are at fault. Unless you really want the 5BW that is.

Nah mistakes happen, it sucks but what sets good companies apart from bad ones is how they handle their mistakes. Maybe Cadillac will come thru, my dealer is still working things out. All this came about on Friday so it’s too early to pass judgement.

I have 3 young kids and want a fun manual. There aren’t too many options out there in manuals and can do 3 car seats across in the back seat. 4BW and 5BW both have positives and negatives. 4BW is more fun and lively on windy roads and in general I prefer smaller cars with lower price tags. 5BW has that engine and more interior space which may be a big deal in 5y when my boys are becoming teens. Maybe I’ll just buy a beater for cheap and not worry about having a fancy daily driver.

Well that's what I meant, if you need the 5 for the space then go for it. But I wouldn't pay an extra penny to "assist" Cadillac in fixing their mistake as the reason to go with the 5, especially if you're stretching your budget to do so.

3 car seats across the back seat? I don't have a 4BW, but my 5BW is packaged as such that the back seats have more space than my previous '16 CTS-V (per my teenage kids, and the eyeball test). The space is perfect.

HOWEVER, you bring up a great point -- a well spec'd 4BW and a "beater" daily that you can lease back (EV or ICE) isn't a bad way to go. But if you don't want the stable of cars and want to do it all in one, do the 5BW... you won't regret it.

Don't give up. Just give Dustin a call.
That is no longer answer! Order a 24 from him never heard anything until car was in production. Flew down to pick up the car never met him! Have placed an order for a 26 months ago have not heard a word. Not the same KING as before.

You're ordering your 3rd one?

Was going to get rid of 22 for deep space metallic, since got new motor and MORE I’ll probably hold on to this one. But things could change order was placed some time ago.
Don't you also have a 24? Likely will trade mine in too when it looks like last model year for sure.

Hope all is well with you, your wife, and your travels

The caddy will be my daily. Overkill for chauffeuring kids around, but a car like a 4BW makes my daily drives fun.
I have a Jeep and before I got T-boned in my Golf R, the jeep was only driven for trips, play or sunny days… or deep snow.
Before the golf I drove a beater for daily drives, but was a light car with good suspension so it made my mtn roads fun; it was only a 4seater and with twins for our second litter it was no longer a viable option.

Whole reason I looked at 4BWs is I didn’t want to build up a car and have a thing I have to work on a lot. I’d rather spend time with my kids. I want something fast enough to be fun and because of the golf I started to like luxuries like good sound deadening, nice materials, etc. I see people complain about GM interiors and VW interiors and I personally find them nice and a lot better than I’m used to.

Yep 24 sits manual, 22 A10 is my preference!
All good here hopefully your family is well also. Thanks for the thoughts we’re going through Niagara Falls, onto Toronto, Montreal, QC city, Prince Edward island, Nova Scotia, back to Maine down coast to home! Should be hell of a run! Hopefully car holds up(engine) since we only got it back last week.
Unbelievable that a bunch of BW owners haven’t planned a get together somewhere in NJ!.

Any word on how much longer GM will keep producing CT5-V Blackwings?
Considering they just added a full customization bespoke program for it, probably for some time. Wouldn't invest in such a program to shut it down.

Meanwhile 4BW going away seems more likely. No proof, just my gut feeling seeing how MY2026 is just a straight carryover.

However though this is GM we're talking about here...

If we're honest, aside from the colors and special editions, the 4BW has been the same car since it debuted. Which is fine with me, they don't really need to change anything.
