Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

How much of that noise is fake?

All these cables mention Bose systems in the cars. We don’t have those.. does this still work?
When I asked they said it's it is based on the RPO code. They also confirmed GMBB4 is the right part number for the UQS sound system.

I'll post a followup once I install it.

Do we have any sense of how bypassing ANC will affect the artificial engine noise from the speakers? In some of the exhaust modes it seems possible it's real noise picked up by microphones and amplified, but track mode has that fake interstellar warble noise.

As I understand it ANC is noise canceling some engine frequencies but letting some through. And it's also canceling other noise. I do not believe it adds any engine sound.

ANC and ESE are 2 separate things, but how Cadillac implemented them, they are tied together. If you install the ANC bypass you will also have ESE deactivated.

There's a lot of fake noise nowadays with modern new vehicles. Maybe you can look into improving the intake and exhaust mechanisms of the vehicle to give more of an authentic noise if possible.

I've put a few miles on the lljcustoms harness. I've yet to hear the supercharger but then again I've been babying the car because I'm still in the < 1500 mile break-in. One thing I will say is when I'm driving (and the windows are up) it sounds like... well... driving a car.

just curious now that you’ve had the harness for a while, what are your thoughts? do you like it better with the ANC disabled? i just ordered one bc I plan on doing headers + exhaust and don’t want to have all that static pumping thru the speakers.

Just to chime in on the LLJ harness. I ordered one and am having trouble with it. The tweeters in the front A-pillars don't seem to work with it plugged in. They claim it's the right model harness, but have been looking into it (waiting on response). Not sure if the 4BW and 5BW have different amps.

Did not have that tweeter problem, 4bw.

Big picture, I would say that the harness doesn't make the car better or worse, just different. Personal preference. A little more road and wind noise. Purer than stock at full throttle but probably a little less musical at part throttle. Biggest factor was some weird drone noises from the active noise interacting with a Corsa exhaust. Now that is fixed.

I think a lot of people with downpipes or headers and an exhaust would like this. Stock, tougher call.

Two most surprising differences were how the engine sound now clearly cones from the back of the car instead of somewhere in the middle, and the pops and bangs got a lot quieter! It highlights how much sound manipulation was going on.

Re 5BW Anyone have advice for removing the SVR plastic surround to get the carpet liner out? Would I have to detach any wires on the SVR? All this to get to the amp and modem;

More work than I hoped for in removing the right side trunk carpet panel; I see the 4 buttons. I want to get the panel out without bending it, I mean if bending it creases it permanently.

Also how do I remove the "kick"" panel/plastic piece running along the trunk latch loading area? I think I can get the plastic insert off from the latch but what about the long plastic panel?

Pretending, ugh, like I'm an installer but with all the wrong tools ie. kitchen spatula, plastic chisel, etc /rolls eyes.
