Another couple of rounds of World Challenge racing coming up this weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Practice and Qualifying on Friday. Then round 11 for the GT cars on Saturday and round 12 on Sunday.

Cadillac is leading the Manufacturer points with Johnny O'Connell first in driver points. Andy Pilgrim is third in points.

More later.

First practice should be over by now but I'm having trouble getting to the World-Challenge website, so I can't report on it. Seems the WC site is challenged with too many people browsing it I guess.

Qualifying is late this afternoon. Maybe the site will let me in by then.

SCCA ProRacing and the World-Challenge web sites finally came up and I'm watching the GT/GTS qualifying stuff now.

Cadillac Racing has 3 cars this weekend. #3 for O'Connell, #8 for Pilgrim and #5 for Jordan Taylor.

Practice results were interesting:

1 Pobst Volvo
2 Figge Volvo
3 O'Connell CTS V.R
4 Skeen Vette
5 Sofronas R8
6 Taylor CTS V.R
7 Ende R8
8 Pilgrim CTS V.R

Looks like the competition adjustments for this weekend may favor the Volvos.

GT qualifying just finished. The unofficial results are...........

1 - Alex Figge ----- Volvo
2 - Randy Pobst --- Volvo
3 - Jordan Taylor - CTS V.R
4 - James Sofronas - R8
5 - Johnny O'Connell - CTS V.R
6 - Mike Skeen ------ Vette
7 - Duncan Ende ----- R8
8 - Andy Pilgrim ------ CTS V.R

Cadillac Racing guys ran 4 or 5 laps and called it a day. Some of the others ran 8-10 laps.
Saving tires and equipment - I guess.

Round 1 is tomorrow at around 11 AM Central.

Spoiler Alert

Well, I didn't get to "watch" the race on the net so all I can do is report the results.

1 Figge Volvo - probably lead start to finish
2 O'Connell CTS V.R
3 Sofronas R8
4 Pobst Volvo
5 Pilgrim CTS V.R
6 Skeen Vette
7 Taylor CTS V.R

This will extend Johnny O'Connell's drivers standing lead and Cadillac's lead in the Manufacturer points.

Spoiler alert

Race #2 didn't go Cadillac Racing's way today.

Johnny O'Connell crashed out and Jordan Taylor had mechanical problems Andy Pilgrim came home fourth behind both Volvos of Figge and Pobst and the R8 of Sofronas.

We'll see how the driver and manufacturer points shake out tomorrow.

Sofronas tightened up the Driver Championship a lot when Johnny O'Connell dropped out. Johnny's lead is now only 13 points. Cadillac has a 19 point lead over Audi in the Manufacturer's race.
