Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

What "don't" you like about your BW"?

It's not a Halo car, never has been. See Celestiq for that crown. It's the 4th and so far best version of the worlds greatest hooning saloon. So ya spent $140k on a car and buying a $15 SD card is MAJOR thing? That is so far down in the weeds that I would expect you to complain the version they did give you (if they did) was not enough gigs or not your preferred brand.

Take it easy on the guy, for all we know he had to sell his body on the streets to buy the car.

Hmm….Cadillac’s initiative when they started the V-Series was to get a younger demographic buying the cars. Mission accomplished. The top V car is the CT5-V Blackwing. The brand’s HALO, I’m not the first to call it that and I won’t be the last, until the release of the Celestiq. They got younger and now they want to go niche & elite. It’s a budget move to not include the card. The money isn’t the point. They could easily have included and upped the price of the PDR by $15 and nobody would’ve batted an eye. The point is that they sell an expensive car w/an option that won’t work until their customer who just dropped a big chunk of change on one of their cars has to go out and buy an SD card. That’s like not adding refrigerant to the AC system. There’s no logical reason for it except to save money. And why would you inconvenience a customer that just spent almost 2X the national average annual salary on a car? Before you yanmer on about you could just order it and have it sent to your door the next day by Amazon, which I did, the point the you missed is if you care about your customers you don’t do something like that if you want to be considered an elite auto manufacturer. Which is what they’re going for w/the Celstiq.

I just got a not inexpensive CD transport today and was shocked it didn’t come with a single music CD. What’s the world coming to. You can buy a $10K Leica camera, and you guessed it, no SD card. Still not getting the point, other than your expectations were not met. Hope your car is not one that will blow a motor.

😂🤣😅
I see the stampede of keyboard cowboys got loose from their mother’s basement. Have you fun boys. If this is what you have to do to feel good about yourself then go ahead. Troll away.

Mine came with all the needed and properly functioning SD cards and it wasn't even a BW. They were put in so soon that I have recordings of it going through dealer prep. A good dealer does that for you (Sewell FTW).
They must not do that for everyone as mine from Sewell didn't come with an SD card.

Man, this thread has really taken a turn. Lights that turn on, seats that cool or heat when you start up, no SD cards, oh my.

I'm very thankful....no, blessed....to be able to have one of these magnificent machines. My only complain is fuel range and turning radius for a u turn. All easily resolved with some planning.

I can’t argue w/you about Sewell. There’s a reason they’re the biggest Cadillac dealer in the country. Models other than the BW have PDRs?
My 22 non-BW 5V came with the PDR included in the Nav pkg. Same through 2024, but became a stand alone option in 2025 when the dash changed. It's one of the perks that I am still appreciating. Love replaying the scenic drive videos and analyzing telematics with the Cosworth software.

Maybe a Dustin Callaway (@1StunnaV) thing.

What DON'T I like?
I took delivery last Friday, so I'm only 40 miles into this adventure. Most, if not all, of these are pretty minor gripes. I'm coming out of a 2009 CTS V (also manual transmission), so my comparisons are to that vehicle.

1) Turning Radius. GAH! That's going to take some serious getting used to...
2) At 6' tall, I found the top of the steering wheel covers to top part of the 33" Instrument screen. Not sure how I'm going to work around that or just live with it.
3) Why no Paper owners manual? I know it's available through the app, but it's easier (for me) to sit in the car with the paper manual than to fumble with my phone before the screen times out.
4) My kids wish the back seat had heaters.
5) No volume knob?? What in the wide world of sports is going on with this nonsense?
6) Some people have mentioned the channel up/down buttons on the wheel are somewhat misplaced, and I'd agree. The CTS V2 placement was much better.
7) The Parking brake being on the left side of the steering wheel isn't intuitive. Again, I think the CTS V2 location (directly aft of the shifter) was far better.
8) Why did anyone spend development dollars on the green/amber "vehicle ahead" indicator in the HUD? If I can see the tiny little car symbol, pretty sure I can see the vehicle in front of me! Rather they spent the time/money finding a spot for the volume knob....
9) The shifter is amazing, but I wish the clutch had a little more travel. I don't mind that it's heavier than my V2, but the shorter travel is going to take some getting used to. I haven't stalled a car in years... Until this weekend.

I have a 22 manual CCB BW - Specc'd exactly how I would've custom ordered it. The new screen of the update is really growing on me, however I'm not sure how well all of these big screens will age. I plan to keep this car forever. Bought it at 6k miles in March 2025, currently has 9300 miles and wanted to ensure that I was in love with this thing as I originally thought before modifying it. Car is headed to Compete Street Performance this week for ported heads/cam/full exhaust/pulleys/intake/103TB/catch can/tune/etc. Really looking forward to building it exactly how I want it - 800whp safely on 93oct.

What I do NOT like about the car:
-turning radius
-size of gas tank
-the extreme desire to modify the hell out of it (personal problem)

When I started this thread over 3 years ago, I didn't know that it would turn into a Frankenstein's monster. The pitch forks and torches have made their appearance. I put my 22'5BW away for the winter and won't see it again until April. It's going to annoy me that I have to wait until then to see where my "parking brake" is. I didn't know it had one ! LOL ! The bottom line is.....when you get into your Blackwing and turn it on....does it turn YOU on ? Mine does !
** After 3 years of ownership, I STILL haven't even done a burnout. WTF is wrong with me?

where my "parking brake" is
If it's an auto, it's on the left side of the dash near the HUD display controls.

You sound like the old 2008 CTS commercial.

And, yes, it still "turns me on". The rumble, the smell, the rareness, the POWER! Such great cars.

I'm planning my first burnout sometime next Spring.
