CT5-V Slight driveability issue

CT5-V Model
Yeah how do you reset the 500 to zero?
Yeah, so you can't really manually reset it. The computer continually revises the number based on fuel level and recent fuel mileage. The shot I posted of my 3.0 TT V was just after I filled up from a tank of all highway driving. So, it was estimating range with a full tank @ ~28.5 mpg. I was so startled, that I had to take a picture. :)

I guess I could not wrap my head around "miles to empty"? In my other cars I had an old fashioned button that cleared the counter after filling gas. The "miles to empty" display next to the fuel gauge made me think it's the same thing... I just clear it to zero every time I fill. In this case it is the trip counter on the DIC...lol still very confused...I am used to seeing "miles to empty" in the DIC on the other cars

Are you thinking of being able to reset the avg mpg to zero? I've done that with prior cars so I can keep an eye out for any unexpected variability of mpg per tank.

Even if you don’t reset the mpg window the “miles remaining” will reset itself when you add fuel, depending on how much fuel is added.

in the Blackwing I thought I could clear this to Zero the same way...so 244 becomes zero...guess user error/usability issue ? :)

I think the old way just zeros out accumulated mileage since last reset (like trip1,2). It was not showing miles to empty.

yeah that's what confused me...I am a Luddite I guess :)....my Golf R (sold) had the same button to zero out the mileage counter as the 911...the miles to empty was a different display on the DIC

You can always use the current drive cycle and fuel economy panels to sort things in real time or by mileage accumulation.
