I'll chime in, recently did this as I wanted a new shift knob. The shift boot is held in with clips on all sides. Best way I found to remove it was use two plastic pry tools. Start at one corner and push the tabs inwards, tards shift knob. I had to use two pry tools, one on each side of a corner, and it came right off. Don't worry you wont' break the tabs, they're robust. To remove the shift knob there is a Trox (maybe T25?) screw on the driver side of the shift knob; once removed, it comes off. If you need any further help feel free to message me.
