selecting reverse with automatic transmission ?

I hated that shifter when I had it in a XT5 loaner.

Same crappy experience in late model BMWs and Volvos I've driven (BMW is a bit goofy as they changed the logic at some point and later models went from forward for reverse to forward for go figure...forward.)
