Introducing the 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing - the most powerful, highest performance Cadillacs ever offered!

At 5:00 pm ET, Cadillac unveiled the all new 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing models to Cadillac dealers and the specs are incredible!

As promised, we have all the juicy tidbits right here for you:

2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing

The CT4-V Blackwing will be the most powerful and fastest Cadillac ever in the subcompact class. The CT4-V Blackwing is more nimble, and benefits from extensive aerodynamic development and testing.

The 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing will be the most powerful subcompact Cadillac ever offered featuring a 3.6L twin-turbo V6 engine putting out 472 hp and 445 lb-ft torque. All of that power will propel the CT4-V Blackwing to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.

A 6-speed manual transmission with active rev-matching will be standard while a 10-speed automatic transmission will be optional.

The CT4-V Blackwing will start at $59,990.

2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing

The CT5-V Blackwing will be the most powerful and fastest Cadillac ever. Descended from the brand’s racing legacy, this vehicle elevates V-Series’ heritage of performance, styling and meticulous refinement.

The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will be the most powerful Cadillac ever offered by the brand and will be powered by a supercharged hand-built 6.2L LT4 V8 engine putting out a healthy 668 hp and 659 lb-ft of torque!

That's 18 more horsepower than the C7 Corvette Z06's LT4 engine which put out 650 hp. The Cadillac's LT4 engine benefits from slightly less air restriction and a supercharger that's 20lbs lighter than the CTS-V's LS9 engine.

The engine will be hand-built by one engine-builder from start to finish. Like previous V-series Cadillacs and high performance Corvettes before it, the LT4 engine will receive a stamped plate with the name of the engine-builder.

Zero to sixty comes in at 3.7 seconds which is 0.1 seconds faster than the CT4-V Blackwing, however, given the additional weight of the CT5-V Blackwing, this isn't surprising. Top speed will be in excess of 200 mph.

While both models will offer carbon ceramic brakes, the 398 millimeter brake rotors on the CT5-V will be the largest rotors ever offered on a production Cadillac. Cross-drilled rotors will be an option on the CT5-V. The carbon ceramic brake system offers a 53 lb weight reduction over a standard iron braking system.

Like the CT4-V Blackwing, a 6-speed manual transmission with active rev-matching will be standard on the CT5-V Blackwing while a 10-speed automatic transmission will be optional.

Starting price of the CT5-V Blackwing begins at $84,990.

Ultimate Track Performance Was the Main Goal

The ultimate goal for these Blackwing models was track performance.

Both models will be rear-wheel drive since an all-wheel drive system would add a significant amount of weight to each vehicle which is counter-productive to Cadillac's performance goals.

The curb weight of the CT5-V is comparable to the CTS-V and both models will have near 50:50 weight distribution which is another reason why Cadillac engineers wanted to stay away from an AWD system.

Both the CT4-V and CT5-V will come with an electronic limited slip differential and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires with brake calipers that will be available in gray, red, blue or bronze. The Michelin Pilot Sports actually have r-compound in the rubber composition for ultimate grip.

The tires will be wrapped around forged aluminum alloy wheels that will come in either a dark or light finish.

Since these are both high performance Cadillacs meant to excite the driver whether it's on a track or the street, Cadillac's Supercruise system will not be an option. And we say AMEN to that!

Before I forget, I want to thank Cadillac for offering a 6-speed manual transmission! THANK YOU for not giving up on the manual tranny for those of us that are still die-hard driving purists and enthusiasts!!!
