[Now Available] AWE SwitchPath™ Exhaust for the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing

I don't believe I said that, to clarify what I said was that volume is just one component to a great exhaust system and only louder is not necessarily better.

As I said before the stock system was very impressive compared to many other OEM systems we see, so the AWE is not a night and day difference to stock. In my opinion the biggest differences was how it sounded from the drivers seat and the tone of the system itself.

Agreed!

No CEL with our system and we stand behind that with our No-CEL guarantee (y)

Very excited to hear the first owner to add some upstream mods with our system :devilish:

Great to hear! Excited to see the system installed, make sure you tag us if you post some photos/video 🤝
I misread it then. My bad!

Ordered yesterday, getting delivered to my shop today, hopefully will be installed by Monday! As always, AWE is just the best to work with. Thanks to my contact John for all the help!!

Do you live across town from AWE?

Do you think for the future ct5-v blackwing exhaust can the oem tips be retained? Maybe too early to know since R&D stage but thought I’d influence R&D or at least have those tips as an option to customers if desired. Thanks!

Why are there so many slip fit joints? I realize V bands may increase the cost a slight bit, but the quality of seal is vastly improved.

Allows them to sell and ship a system that can be installed without welding.
Welding on V band flanges won't hinder shipping nor does is require additional welding. But, they're already welding an exhaust designed for the BW, so adding a few extra welds won't take much longer and drive up cost (significantly).

Those tips are rough! To each their own, but it would kill me to have to look at those every day. Much prefer the stock look.

I really like AWE build quality and the sound of this system. I will probably get one in the future, but I might try to get some Corsa carbon w/ stainless tips to put on instead because they look amazing.
Maybe @Sara/AWE will come out with a similar style in the future. Exhaust tips are pretty universal if pipe size and tip OD are the same and could be used across their line. They would look good with the classic slash cut AWE does (hint hint) ;)

John is the best! We will pass that on to him 🤝

R&D is done already, have a look back at the thread for an in depth look at the release from last week. (y)

Previously this was discussed and due to several factors of the design of the stock system that would not allow stock tips to be utilized in coordination with our system. Also as I prevously pointed out, the chrome tips do stand out a lot against the development cars due to their styling. Worth noting that black tips would blend much better and they are depth adjustable for a more subtle look to suit various tastes.

If installed properly slip fit connections provide a sufficient seal so no worries there, plus it offers the adjustability to be able to dial in fitment of the system. Also worth noting our perfect fitment guarantee so we have your back with our support team either way.

We have tested carbon in the past and did not like what we found. Nobody yet has created a resin which binds the carbon fiber that can withstand the exhaust heat over time and not yellow. At least not a price point less than aerospace cost, which is not realistic to be able to offer.

All that to say if we can not offer a good carbon tip option we will not bring it to market. (y)

Have expressed my thoughts elsewhere and directly with AWE. I'm just jumping in here because I'd like to be updated on the black slash-cut tips when available, as well as how they might look when pushed as far inward/under the valance as possible.

Love the tone! The challenge presented by the welded-on OEM tips is disappointing.

Yes, we too wish they were not welded or were at least more of an adaptable design from the factory.

Black tips are already available and photos of black are on the site, right here if you need the link again.

I will have photos to post of the installation tonight, as mine is installed but the shop has them poking put a bit too much for my liking so I will adjust when I get home, but honestly, I love these tips (grey car, I got the black tips)

I took some before videos and will take some after vids as well once it stops raining in new york but guys.....go give AWE your money. This exahust is perfect. Initial impressions are easiest to describe as a shift in modes. What I mean by that is the stock "sport mode" with the exhaust valves open now sounds like the AWE tour mode (without burbles) and then the AWE sport mode sounds like the same kind of incremental jump that stock had between tour and sport. If that makes sense.

So it stock had level 1 and 2
AWE is like level 2 and 3 now.

Valve open with the AWE is juuuuust loud enough where it feels special and like an actual performance car, but not so loud I feel bad for everyone around me. It's perfect. AWE great job with this exaust. And I can confirm that black tips against the black diffuser looks waaaaaaaay better than the chrome in the videos. I get why they did it, so it's easier to see in the video, but black is the way to go with these cars.

Like I said, I will post some pictures tonight in my garage, they won't be the best but atleast it'll give you guys an idea. But again, 10/10 initial impression. Love it and no regrets.
@obeykube Aren't you in Smithtown? What shop are you using? I am in St James.
I use lake auto in ronkonkoma. Have used them for this and an inspection and some wheels now. Good guys. No complaints. I used to use Elite Motorsports but didn't love the service I got a couple times in a row now.

Another picture (again, the tips are adjustable, I am going to slide them back in about an inch so they are flush, and will take more pics then) but....just so everyone can see!
