Next Gen ICE CT5 Officially Confirmed!!!!

If they did anything, it would be built in Bowling Green on the same chassis as the current Corvette. Just like they did with the XLR. The problem is that it was a turd and sold that way. No one really cared for a "sports car" Cadillac.
They said to be built in Michigan/ Lansing Grand Rivers plant.

We are all speculating, but most likely if there is a blackwing, it will not be 6MT

Based on this latest news, I think the powertrain for the BW will be a direct carry over from the previous gen. Transmissions and LT4 will continue to be used provided that they continue to produce the tremac 6 speed and the 10L80E.

Of course, this all depends on if they produce another BW in the first place.

I understand your point, but it baffles me why Cadillac would pour resources into an all-new generation of the CT5 if they're just planning to carry over the existing engines and 6-speed manual transmission—especially right after the 2025 refresh. They could've easily stretched that updated model for another five years or so. Plus, from a revenue perspective, it seems questionable to develop a next-gen CT5 when the current platform is only moving about 14,000 units annually.

If their plan is to bring the Camaro back, which shares the same platform and factory, it would make sense to squeeze the lemon while they can.

Well, why not throw in my 2 cents …

They will keep producing the CT5, CT5-V, and CT5-V Blackwing until they need the factory for something else. Only minor tweaks between model years. With the slowdown of the EV transition, and the climate change hoax waning, the factory could be available until 2030.

Next gen CT5? Build it with a NA V8, offer a 6MT, and sales will be measured in shitloads.

Slap a Pontiac badge on it, and sales will be legendary. Our ancestors will sing songs about the sales of that car.

If they made a new CT5 that had the handling and power of a SS1LE with a V8 LT2 inspired engine from the C8, the comfort, space and ride of the Blackwing I would trade my current CT4V Blackwing for it. I love my car, but the desire of that V8 low rpm grunt for highway mileage and the sound of a V8 is strong. Especially now that my Z06 is put away for winter.

I don’t have a problem with going hybrid on the Blackwing. Only if it sounds like the IMSA Lemans car when it goes from electric to ICE. That thing sounds like the Deathstar is fire up when it transitions. 😮‍💨

Yeah, there will be another Blackwing for sure is where my money would go on a bet. :beer

Well here it is!

4 door variant will be the primary seller

The new CT5 platform isn’t just being developed for North America but China, too, is my guess.
Unless the models have diverged in recent years, I believe the Chinese get the same chassis but with pissy communist engines.
This reduces the engineering and design cost per unit considerably, especially when you consider that Cadillac sells about 4 or 5 times as many CT5s in China as here.

In direct competition to the CT5? Seem like a very GM thing to do. I sure hope not. Chevy need a muscle car coupe IMO.

I am a little more than concerned that the next gen CT5 is going to be a rebadged Camaro (4-door if rumors are true) and Buick. I assume Cadillac has something special up its sleeve to set it apart from the others.

yea this makes sense to me as well. If they share the current alpha platform it makes sense they will do the same for the next gen. very exciting unless the hybrid the Blackwing and ruin it like the europeans
