V-Series Cadillac(s)?
2024 CT5 V Blackwing
Blackwing Newbie. I got a 2024 CT5-V Blackwing, manual. Bought it new with 7 miles on it. I got 525 miles on it now. So far I really like the car. Its funny, people in my area have no idea what this car is. They just think its a typical Cadillac.

How are the oil changes on these car? I typically change my own oil, don't trust the dealer. I have looked on You Tube and there are no video's on changing the oil in a CT5 Blackwing with a LT4. I am not familiar with the LT4.

Beauty and welcome! Oil changes are pretty standard, I stick with OEM filter and Mobil 1 Supercar 0w-40. I've read some folks have LT4's which want more then 9qt, some less. Otherwise, 18ft/lb on the drain plug. GTG. The only issue I had was jacking up the 5, avoiding cracking the side rockers, and placing jackstands. I went ahead and got race ramp cribs, problem solved.

Sully, Thanks for the info. I used to have a 2014 GT500 and I bought Race Ramps with the extensions for that. They work great for low clearance vehicles. As you know Race Ramps are not cheap, but they make oil changes easy.

I just take mine to the dealership for the oil change. Not much more money than my local (reputable) repair shop and I get points on my GM Rewards card. This way the carfax shows it was all service 95% of the time by the Cadillac dealership. Makes for an easier resale/trade-in down the line. I do my own wash and details, though.
