Just wanted to say hello and welcome myself to the 5BW family. My 2026 5BW arrived this weekend. I placed an order Dec 2023 🤣

CF 1 and 2
Carbon ceramic brakes (bronze)
CF seats backs (dealer places order wrong so instead of the tier 3 leather and CF seats backs, it arrived with the tier 2 but they were able to source CF seat backs and installed them)
Manual
Microsuede wheel and shifter
Slick top
Black mirrors and badges

Already swapped out the chrome front and rear emblem and tinted the front side markers. Now just waiting to get the car to PPF installer to wrap entire thing. Unfortunately, GM paint quality is trash like usual. I have a big blemish on the roof along the a pillars seem. I'm thinking they will have to repaint the roof (last pic).

Anyways, I'm in NC and looking forward to driving the hell out of this thing.

Congrats! That "blemish" on the roof looks horrible! I wouldn't have driven off the lot until they put in writing that they;d make it right. There was a member here who had similar paint issues on delivery & did not notice until after they took the vehicle home. The dealer/GM did not fix the issue & ignored the owner's complaint. Another member noted the issue(s) on delivery & refused to leave the lot until the dealer took ownership of the issue. IIRC, it took dealership/GM >3 mos to address & correct.

BTW, I'm in Raleigh & work (mostly) in Moore County. Where are you in North Cackalacky?

Unfortunately the car was delivered to my dealer in Michigan so the transport driver pointed it out to me when the car was delivered. Didn't really have much of a choice unfortunately.

I'm just outside of Charlotte in Denver (Lake Norman).

Did the dealer install an aftermarket CF seat back for you? I didn't know they'd do that.

That is interesting about the seats, but the more I read, the more mistakes during the building process I see. Did you end up paying for the top tier seats and end up with the mid tier and carbon backs?

I'm in Moore county, near Pinehurst and I have yet to see another Blackwing around, but good to know you guys are out there!

A friend of mine in PH has a Black on brown 4BW 6MT. He got that after I let him take my 5BW for a test drive. Another guy I work with (also in PH) put in an order last month for a 5BW after I took him for a ride in my 5BW. (I'd have let him drive it but he doesn't know how to drive a manual.) Pretty sure I've spotted a gray 5BW out and about in PH/SoP.

Big congrats to you! I love that color. The photo with your daughter is priceless!

The dealer should have given you the carbon backs for free. That is ridiculous that you have to settle and not have the semi aniline leather you wanted. I have them on mine, and could care less about the carbon backs compared to the actual upgraded leather. But, the carbon backs do look incredible, and separate the Blackwing from other models.

I'm guessing Denver NC is a helluva lot nicer than the crapper we have in Colorado. I flew into NC several months ago for a project visit in Indian Valley, Virginia. I really enjoyed some of the areas we drove through heading North.

Congrats! Sign up for Spring Mountain - you will love it.

That looks like it could have been impact damage perhaps from the car above it on the carrier. :( I don't think it could have left the factory like that.

same guess here - had an ordered Expedition years ago and the roof was damage when a chain from the car above fell on it. We had a great dealer that called and actually told us, "hey the car is here, but sorry - in the body shop for a few days to repair.... are you okay still taking the car?". Since the roof is over 6 feet high and out of sight - and as long as repaired correctly, I didn't care about it potentially mismatching or blending in long term. Just thought - love all your black contrasts and a black roof wrap would pop.

I went through the exact situation years ago with a Navigator. The kicker for me, I bought it at auction because due to the amount of damage the dealer couldn't sell as new. A brand new 63k Nav for 45k in the end. Man I miss those days of new car prices..
