Prepping for the arrival of my '25 5VBW. Thanks to everyone who has been posting about issues to be aware of on these cars, big or small, I started putting together a list of items to inspect and/or address with the dealer when the car does in fact show up (when that will be might just be the subject of a wager...)

I'm something of a planner, and I really try and get things right the first time, so I'd prefer to discover anything that needs attention the day of delivery. Especially since my dealer is 500+ miles away in Vegas.

Here's what I have come up with so far. Please let me know if I've missed anything. I tried to thank other members who specifically called out issues-sorry to anyone I forgot, I have been reading/learning a lot since I joined this forum a month or so ago...

1) Oil plug on block. My dealer does not seem to be too high volume a seller of these cars, so they were not prepared with an answer when I asked them if they had heard of this issue. At least the salesperson- the service guy sounded a little more familiar. So my plan is to ask them to have a tech inspect it and send me a video of the hopefully fully seated plug that also shows the car exterior. Might be overkill, but I feel like this route I at least know they have to spend the time looking into it and can't just send me some stock image off the web. (thanks @chrishuy for starting the thread that caught my attention, and others for their contributions)
2) Remove plastic shipping braces in suspension. Self explanatory. (Thanks @ngoni)
3) No damage to wheels? (Thanks @ernsteeng)

P1
1) Headlight angle/level. If anything else, I'll plan to check this on my own at night by just checking level of lo/hi beams on an even/flat wall.
2) Door alignment. I recall a thread about this, not sure if it was panel gaps or window sealing or something similar.
3) Precision Pack spare toe links in trunk? I don't need them installed, just to know that they indeed are in the car.
4) Headliner/mirror buzz on driver's side. Sounds like this was a MY '22 only thing, or at least something that has gone away by the '25 MY.
5) Various fit and finish checks. Small things I have read about here and there, like loose door handles, squeaks, rattles, etc. My 718 Cayman GT4 came with the suede steering wheel and the 12'o'clock marker tilted just a smidge to one side, and the OCD side of me is still irked about this. I should have complained to the dealer when I picked the car up, but oh well. Small but still, for the price of the car, that should not happen.

I did not spec the semi-aniline seats, so no need to look for excessive, shall we call it "natural character", in the leather itself. Which probably would not bother me anyway.

Let me know anything I missed.

Double check the wheels, including on the inside. All 4 of mine were damaged by the car carrier and the dealer paid to have them repaired.

Ouch. All 4? Yikes.

That is a good one to check, thank you.

Did you pick up at the dealer or have the car delivered to your house? Curious where the damage came from.

I missed a small chip on my center console carbon fiber insert because it was on the passenger side. I would have caught it had I sat in the passenger side and really inspected the interior.

Make sure that they give you your "tomahawks" in the trunk. They are small metal air deflectors that came with 2022's in case you wanted to track your car. They were to add as air deflectors onto your brakes. IDK if they still use them after 2023.

Request in advance that they don't install the front license plate and that they don't wash or detail it.

Make them save the suspension shipping spacers so you have them and so you know they aren't still installed. So many on here have found them still there weeks after purchase.

Make sure both key fobs work. Thieves like to grab one fob in transit and get your car later.

Make sure the mud flaps/rock guards are fully screwed in. Some have had missing screws.

Make sure you have all the stuff you're supposed to in the trunk- gas can adapter, fix a flat kit, OEM tow hook, etc.

Bring a flashlight to inspect the carbon and other trim bits as well as visually inspect the engine. Saw one person had a horribly bad hose clamp job on a brand new car that GM QC and dealer service missed.

If you get any dealer installed upgrade options (black lug nuts, black badges, black mirror caps, upgraded floor mats, etc) then the stock item that came from the factory should be in the trunk for you. Some service departments are lazy and don't put those parts back in your trunk.

All the more reason to look at the car from as many angles as possible, and outside in the sun to boot, vs under indoor lighting.

Huh. Have not heard of these before. Thanks for mentioning- will inquire if they are still so equipped.

Yup, NV I don't think requires a front plate (I could very well be wrong) so should be good there, but the don't wash/detail- is that just so that the buyer can spot any potential blemishes/issues before the dealer tries to cover something up?

No, because often times, a wash / detail from the dealer will cause paint damage.

The guy that does your ceramic coating will probably say that because it saves him possibly a step of having to do any type of paint correction. Probably hoping to get by with charging you for the paint correction yet not having to do it or as little as possible.
