I don't understand how people find the rear seat unusable. No its not generous, but my wife and I are both 5'8" and I can sit in the rear seat behind her without having to adjust the front just fine. That with a 70lb dog sitting up in the middle seat and a child booster seat over to the right. He is across my lap if he wants to lay down, but it work just fine.

If you're looking for another perspective -

I'm 6'5" and put my front seat almost all the way back. Wife's 5'6" so had her seat back a bit too. When looking, we had two kids under 2 at the time which means reverse-facing car seats. Not possible for us in a CT4. Once the kids graduated to boosters, sure, maybe. That's 7 years old ish? The warranty would be expired before it'd make sense for us.

I got the CT5-V BW. Everything fit perfectly with mm to spare. I still have mad respect for the CT4's 3.6L TTV6 and would have preferred it. But when I was looking, imo, the CT4 felt like a Camaro w/ 2 rear doors added in as a novelty.

It's good we got the CT5 b/c I sometimes drive business folks around between sites at work and the space has been great. Driving around 4 6'+ people would have never worked in a CT4.

Both cars are great and very slept on.

Agreed.

I'm 6'-2" and the driver's seat in my comfortable position means the seat behind me has next to no space between the back of my seat and the base of the rear seat.

As Vagabond said, it’s hard with rear facing car seats. I’m 5’5 and my wife is 5’3. Our kids are also small. I have plenty of room because my daughter is facing forward. The passenger seat is so far forward that her knees basically touch the glove box but it has to be that way to fit the rearward facing car seat. I’m driving further with a work colleague and will need to take the seat out so he can be comfortable. It is a PITA. My Focus RS had more room even though it’s a smaller car (probably because of the engine size and layout). I would still do it the same all over again, but it’s definitely compromised.

I agree that the very tight rear seat area is less than ideal and occasionally its an issue. We're used to small cars and less than ideal room in the back but it confounds me just how small it is even compared to our BMW 3 series and GTI.

The GTI - which benefits from being FWD has the most room by far. I've always been amazed how VW maxed use of space in that car.

All that being said I still praise GM/Cadillac for making and selling this car. MT with Tremec, fantastic chassis, steering and handling, comfortable (at least in the front where it matters most) and a worthy all around performer. OK back seats are tight....we get that...

I'm just a tad under 6 ft (possibly shrinking as I get older) but I can drive reasonably comfortably pulling my seat up enough to let a decent (not too large) passenger to sit comfortably behind me. Fine for short to medium length trips but I wouldn't want to do it for longer trips - both for my comfort as well as the rear seat occupant.

The CT4 is much more usable than a Camaro or Mustang, just having the extra doors is a game changer.
It's still in the 2+2 space category, with a larger rear seat and more usable trunk (The opening of the trunk on the Camaro is insanely small)

I have my Passport for people hauling. Most people don't like me to explore the limits of grip like I tend to do in the CT4. ;)

Same it's doable for an in-town trip. I wouldn't want to drive that way for an extended period.
