CT4-V Blackwing hopefully
Hey everyone, I have a 2024 4BW that has a clunk from the right rear that I’m trying to diagnose (and help the dealer diagnose it). Would anyone be willing to get a photo of their right rear spring with the car sitting on a flat surface? I’ll post a photo of mine for reference. This would be a HUGE favor in helping to see if the spring position is the same on a non-clunking car. Thank you in advance!

That swaybar bushing looks damaged. Looks torn to me. That will cause a clunk noise.

I think you’re referring to the rod looking thing coming through a rubber looking thing in upper left of photo? That’s an exhaust post in its rubber hanger. Looks fine to me.

Thank you guys for the pictures! Unfortunately looking like that spring angle is normal since all your cars appear to be similar to mine.

Really hoping to not have to pursue a buyback since it’s been in 4+ times and the dealer can’t figure out the noise.

I had a bad clunk in my 22 4 BW and the rear left was blown. Can you try another dealer?

I tried the local Cadillac and Chevy dealer. Cadillac tried three sets of rear shocks with no change in the noise. I have a customer assistance case open with Cadillac and I’m trying to get them to send out a field service engineer.

I took the right rear sway bar end link off and it felt fine, boot is not torn. My clunk is intermittent so that leads me to think not the end link because I’ve found end links tend to clunk all the time when they’re bad. I also swapped rear springs left to right since they’re the same part number, clunk still there.

Check the parking brake. Others have said that was a problem that would make a clunking noise if it was out of adjustment.

Do you know how to adjust it or where people have had luck doing it? I’ve searched on this forum and on google and can’t find any information
