Maybe it's a combination of my age and how I intend to use the car, but I really don't see why reviewers are saying the 8" and 10" infotainment screens are too small in the Blackwings. Personally, I don't need a lot of screen real-estate vying for my attention, at least not the way I drive. To me, the giant tacked on IPAD screens seem to make new cars seem dated before they even get off the lots, and make the whole interior aesthetic look a bit cheap. I guess from a luxury standpoint it makes sense if you're the passenger watching the nav or the radio. I know EV's go with big screens because they anticipate long periods in the car while it isn't moving, but for a driver's car, I don't really see the need for mega screens....

So what say you? What's your take on the screen size?

PS. GM if you're listening create a separate user-configurable Blackwing-only Performance page in/ for the infotainment screen so that we can augment the limited number of gauges in the main driver display...

10-4 on that. BMW has it, and it is killer (I am generally a big fan of the ID7, it is amazing in my view).

I think it's fine. Except when I'm checking traffic or going somewhere I'm unfamiliar with, I turn it off anyways.

That said I don't like how they middle the satnav view, it should be clever enough to be something like 60/40 where you are going.

The size is okay, but resolution is very fuzzy on Apple CarPlay. It feels like a compact rental I get at LAX. In saying that, my 2015 991.1 C4 GTS has similar resolution. So my 911 is also a compact rental.😂

I've been meaning to ask how you like ID7. Having that rotary controller and never having to touch the screen is so great.

A rotary controller is great until you have to use something that was designed for a touch screen, and then it is awful. Like Apple Carplay. Apple carplay with a rotary controller is the worst thing ever.

As you know I had never owned the brand before. The ergonomics are superb. My elbow is comfortable on the console and my hand lays right on the rotary knob. Super comfortable and I mostly never touch the screen (I do swipe the custom home screens I added, another cool feature!).

Swipe right a few times, the home screen is a split view of Nav, Radio, and Phone. Or are you saying you want it to display where you are plus info on where you are going?

I mean I want the birds eye view on the Nav screen to not be dead-centered. There is too much wasted space 'behind you' that doesn't need to be displayed. It should be weighted in the direction you are traveling.

Too small, cant split screen with waze since the screen gets so unusable.

That's wild because I've never thought it was unusable in our Murano, or the A5 or even the previous ATS V.... split screen those all the time with smaller screens. I guess once you've had bigger....
