Help with changing cabin air filter 5BW

Hello-

I am trying to change the cabin air filter on my 2022 5BW. I have been trying to squeeze the sides of the glovebox by the tabs in order to drop it lower, but I can barely get the sides to budge inwards. Am I missing something? I have small hands but without droping the glovebox further I can't pich the two clips together.

I've been working on a lot of different cars lately but I think I used a tool of careful persuasion to get the sides to comply enough to get past the stops. There is no way I can get my mitts in there without lowering it past normal open, but I've heard that is how some people do it.

I just did the cabin filter last weekend and did not have to drop the glove box itself. I reached the clip to the cover on the right side and was able to squeeze it just enough to pop the right side off, which then allows the left side to slide out of its notch. The filter then just slides out and you insert the new one and then slide the left side of the cover back into its slot and push the right side into the notch for the push clips. I have large-ish hands, too, but it was surprisingly easy to do once I put my flashlight in there and saw what was up.

Exactly the same for my fat hands. No need to drop the box, just work over the top and open the cover like Champale explained.
