Has anyone experienced a metallic rattle coming from the exhaust valves?
I hear a squeak whenever the valves adjust position (such as blipping the throttle at idle in sport exhaust mode), and at part-throttle acceleration there is a metallic rattle coming from the exhaust. It is particularly noticable at low speeds (when ambient noise is low), part-throttle, and is really amplified when next to a wall or in a parking garage with the windows down. My car (2022 4BW, 38k miles) is currently at the dealer who just confirmed the issue and is ordering a complete muffler replacement ($4k under warranty) because the valves can't be ordered/replaced separately. This is the second warranty muffler replacement for the same issue, the prior one having been completed last year and 8k miles ago. The previous replacement did solve the problem for a while but it obviously came back. FWIW, Holman Cadillac in NJ has been excellent to deal with across a myriad of warranty repairs.
Coincidentally, my muffler was ALSO replaced as part of repair work due to a rear-end accident in 2023, so this will now be the 4th new muffler on my car in 38k miles.
I can't be the only one with a turkey of an exhaust!
