Does Thorton Chip tuning work?

Noticed on the bottom of this page an advertisement for Thorton Chip. They say stage 3 chip will give you 60 HP and 5 MPG increase for $89 on 5BW. Sounds to good to be true. Anyone have actual experience with this plug and play chip? Work as advertised, sort of work or total BS? PS I have a manual BW so not sure if this affects the gas mileage results compared to an automatic.

It took a few years to crack Global B (which HP Tuners just did a couple of months ago). It's thousands of dollars to get a proper tune on one of these cars (assuming you don't already have HP tuner and license credits). Does it make any sense that Mr. Thorton's OBDII dongle broke the code for a mere $90? They wouldn't be a clickbait ad if that was the case, they would own an island in the Pacific (which maybe they do if enough people lack basic critical thinking skills and fall for this goat shit). Geez, then you double post in the general section...are you getting a commission on sales of these?
