CT4 Blackwing
Most cars have some sort of baffles in the pcv, but I would say yes it could use a catch can. I haven't seen a direct injection motor that couldn't.

ok that's what I was wondering. I have the Mishimoto on a Genesis G70 and it gets about an ounce of oil every 3k miles. Any particular one? I've been happy with the Mishimoto so far, so I thought I'd do that and figure out a way to mount it up. There are the Tracy Lewis ones too that have the third active vacuum port though, not sure if that's worth anything between the two. I don't want a vent to atmosphere so mighty mouse and LMP are out.

Catch can is really the only thing I'm looking to do on this car.

Yeah I don't want to use a vent to atmosphere can, that's why I'm looking at the Mishimoto Universal can or the Tracy Lewis ones. Really the only reason for me to look at the Tracy Lewis one is for the third active vacuum option. Otherwise the Mishimoto has a closed dual inlet/outlet connection on it that works.

I run the Mighty Mouse can. It catches a pretty good ammount of oil and moisture between oil changes.

One thing with this one is that it's jammed in there too which I'm not a huge fan of. How do you even drain that or see how full it is? Seems like it would be a huge headache. With the Mishimoto catch can I was thinking I'd mount it on the left strut tower brace where there's the open area there and the Mishimoto you just unscrew the can and dump it and then screw it back on. It's super easy.

It’s easy to see the sight glass from the side. I just loosen a thumb screw and it slides out of the bracket and drains easily. It’s a 5 minute job.

How do you like that Tapout Tuning intake? I was thinking about doing that down the road as the only performance mod, but I was worried it throws codes that can be detected if service scans the computer. Also, worried that it may lean out the the air fuel even though they say it doesn't since it has the four O2 sensors.

Also curious, is there any kind of benefit to having an open breather catch can vs closed?

These things are more trouble than they are worth. Introduce multiple new leak points. Check valves stick open or closed sooner or later. There is potential for doing damage with improper installation or failure. I used to install them on my cars, but done with them. Its not worth it.

I have the oversized air intake. It will throw codes. I am tuned for it so I have no codes. If you get the stock sized intake you will not see codes

OK yeah they only sell the oversized one that increases boost, but the codes worry me and I don't want to tune it or have that bypass module that auto closes the codes. I imagine the service department will see a bunch of codes being closed out over and over again.

Trust me, you want it. When I installed my throttle body there was oil around the intercooler bricks in a couple areas.

Just the amount of oil I get out of the Mishimoto catch can on my G70 it feels good knowing that's not all over the internals coating everything.

Yep. Oil in the intake also alters your air/fuel ratio. If you are running any kind of boost this is very important.

This can shows install instructions for ATS-V, same engine but do you for sure it will work on a CT4-V BW ?

Under "Apllication *", you can select CT4-V BW for an additional $12.
