CT4 brake pads - 2 part numbers

GM has two part numbers for CT4. I don’t know what the difference is between them and does it matter which one I pick? Only one is available at the moment.

Interesting! It looks to me like 85528936 is the original part and 85115921 is perhaps a longer wearing alternative. The only difference between the two pads appears to be that 85528939 has 9.15mm of friction material and weigh 7.14 lbs, while 85115921 have 13.65mm of friction material and weigh 9.01 lbs.

85115921 Is the factory pad without Chamfers.

85528936 Is low noise version with Chamfers.

New front pads and rotors installed. Wasn’t too bad of a job. Worst part was the brake sensor, the connector behind the wheel well liner was awful!

Did you use oem rotors or aftermarket. I see there are Girodisk ones as well as rings from Paragon which fit OEM hats.

Is there any general recommendations on here for lower break dust pads, or is that not worth messing with?

Almost every aftermarket pad has less dust than OEM. I went with Powerstop but others have had good results with other brands.
