When I took delivery of mine here in Canada I did sign something that said I agreed I wouldn’t sell the car to a US-based buyer for 6 months.
My guess is that GM Canada doesn’t want to sell cars earmarked for their Canadian customers to someone who is just a front for an American looking to get a discount due to favourable exchange rates.
