Apex Wheels for CT4-V Blackwing

This is a different wheel but the same spec if that helps:

Personally, I wouldn't want any more than the 9.5 ET35 with stock tire has. Looking at it, the tread is within the wheel well lip but the sidewall bulges past it slightly.

Thanks mate, is yours the 18x10.5 et40 or the 18x10 et42?
18x10.5 et40
From the pic, those are also the original tires FYI. I'm anticipating replacement this summer and plan to step up in size a little.

Been following this thread for a while, a lot of useful information throughout. Waiting on swift lowering springs to come in.

Thanks all, super helpful bunch on here! I recently picked up a 4BW myself but haven’t posted on here yet… I will soon with pics ;)

Btw the 265/285 combo looks great! I’ve been thinking about this as well, especially since the 10.5 in an 18 just needs a little more “meat” that the factory 275 offers I think. Very nice!

Thanks! I agree, I think the step up in size helps.
Put the new wheels and tires on Monday and it’s been raining here in Pa ever since.

Funny I know it all too well, I grew up in Erie,Pa and spent some time in Pittsburgh as well. Erie especially seemed like was cloudier more often than even some parts of the Pacific Northwest.

Hey man apologies for the minor thread jack - been following along on your brother's channel. Super interested to hear your impressions of the car's performance and reliability with the JB4 once you start doing longer track sessions. Do you have a dedicated thread somewhere I can follow?
Hey man! Glad to hear it. The only real place is probably here (though I am SUPER out of date on posting - I need to catch up one day): Bought a 4 door V6TT Camaro to stomp on Corvettes at the...
Can you by chance post a couple of pics from the back? Specifically looking to see how far these 10.5 stick out… and whether or not 7-8mm of poke is very visible. Thanks!
Yeah of course, but this is the only one from that day and it's not great.

Hey Obeykube, I wasn't sure If I asked already... (getting ready myself to pull the trigger on winter wheels and tires (Albeit Pilot sport 4/ AS) Interested in how you worked out TPMS for the winter set. and what did you use for lug nuts (originals or order new set?)
The CT4V requires an M14x1.5mm 60-degree conical seat lug nut. You can use your OEM lug nuts with our Apex wheels.

We haven't updated our website yet, but our C8 Corvette HUF TPMS sensors work and are cross-compatible with the CT4V, so you can buy them and they will connect like OEM.

Has anyone tried an 18x11 +44 rear wheel?

Hard to tell the poke with the 10.5" +40mm, but the 11 inch wheel only sticks out about 2mm further.

I test fit the OE 5BW wheels (19x11 ET50) on my 4BW and there was a little bit of poke. 6mm further outboard would not be something I would want unless you ran some crazy negative camber.

Interesting. People running the 18x10.5 +40mm offset are technically poking 3.5mm roughly more than the ct5vbw 19x11 +50mm rear wheels and they dont look bad.

With the 5BW wheels on my 4BW, the edge of the rim was basically flush with the rear fender lip but the tire (with it's rim protecting sidewall) poked. With a 295/30 it would be better. The popular Apex 19x10.5 ET45 sits 1mm further in than the 11" ET50 but that's still not quite enough to my eyes.

FYI for a point of comparison, BC Forged specs an ET55 with a 10.5" rear fitment for the 4BW. I think somewhere in between 45 and 55 is the sweet spot for a 10.5 to run a 285 or 295 tire but I am very particular when building custom wheels so take my opinion for what it's worth (nothing!).

Any way to make the ML-RT10 for the 5BW's? Those were going on my 4 before I traded it. I think these cars need a lip but it says these aren't available for the 5. Hoping they could be made to work.

I've got 18x10's and 18x11's presently wearing 285/30 and 295/30's. Unless you intend to go to 315/30's in the back, go with 10.5".

We would love to make ML-10RTs for the CT5, but unfortunately, the built-in lip design comes with worse brake clearance. We have a couple of options that would work for the front, but the rears would require a 12mm spacer on our 19x11 ET44 to clear the stock brakes, for example. Which would require extended wheel studs in the rear, along with an alignment of around -1.5 to -2, I would guess. Here's a close-up shot of how our 19x11 ET44 looks with a 305/30-19.
