2025 Surround Vision Recorder switched to USB?

In the 2025's, the PDR still uses an SD Card, the slot to the left of the steering wheel near the HUD controls.
The SVR feature, however, is "missing" at the moment, and this seems to be the experience 2025 Escalade IQ owners are having as well with the updated infotainment/in-car-OS. There's a couple threads from Escalade owners who have tried a variety of things to no avail (https://www.**************.com/threads/25-escalade-surround-video-recorder.1152276/)

There's no longer an SD card slot in the trunk (at least, not where it used to be), this seems to have been replaced by a USB-A port in the center console.
The SVR application is installed, and can be opened by asking the Google Assistant to open the "Surround Vision" app, but it will only display a screen telling you that it needs a minimum 64GB USB drive, with the proper formatting, and nothing else on it.
If you insert a blank flash drive that meets these criteria, the Android Auto OS on the car automatically creates a few directories on it, which seems to "break" the requirement for it to be an unused drive.
Hope you are correct just ordered a

SanDisk 512GB Ultra Fit USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive - Up to 400MB/s, Plug-and-Stay Design - SDCZ430-512G-GAM46, Black

because I only had a 32GB available, and it didn't work. If this works; Thank you, and they should update the Owners Manual to reflect the change ! So idiots like me don"t look in the trunk and say "How did I miss that option when I thought I ordered everything that made sense.

Just to be clear, the feature still doesn't work even with the right type USB drive. That part seems to be another example of Cadillac dropping the ball on these cars.

Well that sucks.. I feel their updated tech options are really cool, but unfortunately also you need forums like this, and/or the diligence to figure out how to fix or get by the "Glitches". I've been challanged with the SuperCruise, the Launch Control, and now the Surround Vision. Figured out the first 2.. You should not have to be a technician to operate these functions, and for what we pay for these wonderful cars we should be entiltled to the Luxury we are Paying for to be simple !

The school in Vegas is a great place to get all these concerns addressed as well, right? I've not gone yet but you'd think...

... If they have the 25 BW CT5, they might be able to help. I visited their facility while my car was being built, and they have a BW 4's & BW 5's but didn't know enough at the time to determine the years of the vehicles. My nephew & neice just moved to Pahrump and they are about 10 minutes away from the track. I plan on trying to go in the Fall when its not 100 plus degrees every day, but I am determined to try to figure this out for myself, and to help the lucky new owners of these vehicles..

The 2025 owners manual talks about the surround vision cameras but nothing about the ability to record.
Just went Cadillac website to rebuild my car, and if you select (which they made me for what I wanted) the Super Cruise 1 Package it includes as they state "Surround Vision Recorder (see pic)

GM's websites are worthless and nothing but a marketing tool.

The rubber meets the road on the order guide and RPO guide.

AI SAYS:
  • No Dedicated SVR on Blackwing:
While the CT5-V Blackwing has a surround camera system, it does not appear to have the dedicated SVR feature that allows for recording and storage of video like some other Cadillac models.
      • The 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing includes an available enhanced Performance Data Recorder (PDR) as part of the Precision Package, which provides lap analysis, speed trace analysis, and other driving data. While the vehicle has a standard Surround Vision camera system, there's no specific "Surround Vision Recorder" (SVR) feature like the one found in some other Cadillac models. The Performance Data Recorder is accessed through the touchscreen and provides tools like the Lap Analyzer and Speed Tips.

        Elaboration:
        • Surround Vision Recorder (SVR) Functionality:
In some Cadillac models, the SVR system allows users to record, store, and watch video captured by the vehicle's surround cameras. This feature is activated through the infotainment screen and requires an SD card.
