Update: installed Ferodo 2500 front pads from KNS Brakes. Did the burnishing this morning and they immediately have more bite than the OE pads without being grabby. Will report back after a doing some more driving. The Ferodos have the slot for the OE brake pad sensor, too, unlike some pads...
....... and makes 500 ft. lbs. @ 3250 rpm.
38,000 ORIGINAL MILES... All highway as proven by the fact that this V still runs the factory brakepads it came with from the dealership !
Mechanically and visually stunning. Needs absolutely nothing. Many more pics to come - will be on Bring A...
...would shred the rotor in a few hard applications. They are vastly different materials. Don't mistake Carbon-ceramic brakes with ceramic brakepads. They aren't the same.
I ask because I'm guess that GM hasn't made CCB-specific pads that'll work with the non-CCB-calipers.
I don't understand...
...brake numbers?
Trying to order parking brakes that will fit the carbon ceramics in the rear. Standard iron ones have to be different. The part number for the parking brakepads seems to be the same, but GMs website is full of issues.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

...this set up on the street and shorter tire life is part of the price of admission and I am fine with that tradeoff. However, I was doing brakepads yesterday (installing the SR-11s to clean up some pad deposits as recommended elsewhere on this forum) and noted some pretty significant wear...
I had front rotors replaced twice under warranty for vibration under braking (front pads replaced once too). It kept coming back until I had the front pads changed from OEM to a semi-metallic pad (Hawk HPS). After a month or so of those, the problem was gone and hasn't come back. I use cruise...
Do you guys have any experience with these pads, also on closeout at KNS? DBA XP Performance BrakePads Closeout for 2023 Cadillac CT5 V Blackwing Iron Discs
The description makes it sound like they'd tolerate at least light-duty track use. Mostly curious about dust (IE, chasing the holy...
Spring Mountain CP 8 100+ mph breaking zones down to 40mph. High average speed 3.2 mile track ~2:35 times. Heavy on brakes but then I didn't ride brakes. Riding them doesn't give them time to cool between braking zones. By the way I average 75% brake wear each track weekend. So I usually need...
...have lasted much longer than the stock pads.
Negative: Much more dust and occasional break squealing.
Overall Rating: These are great brakepads for heavy track use, but most Cadillac V-Series owners will not like them.
My use case is much different than most V-Series owners. At least 50%...
My ‘24 4BW has a noise exactly as you describe here. It has 1,000 miles on it, but has been doing it since the day it was new. Almost sounds like it’s “cycling” as it goes over bumps at medium to low speeds. I describe is exactly as you did - if it were an old car would say it needs suspension...
I'm just over 33,000 miles now, 3 track days and I'm ready to replace the brakepads & maybe the rotors. The car is solid, you know "meets or exceeds customer expectations".
Can you please provide OE BrakePads Part #'s for 5BW w/ Steel Rotor - Front and Rear pads and/or pads with kit - I couldn't find anyone providing the part #s in my searches. Much appreciated. I believe J57 indicates Steel Rotors, and J6H indicates Carbon Ceramic Rotors.
...old... a thwacky-clunk over impacts that doesn't last very long.
I had the car in the air a few weeks back to install jack pads and swap brakepads. I don't recall any noises prior to that. I've swapped pads 100 times on previous cars for track duty, so I feel confident that I didn't...
For Sale:
-Hakkapeliitta R3 in 255/35/18 square setup. They have roughly 12k miles on them. 2 tires are 7mm+ center tread, 1 is at 6mm+ center and the other is 5.5mm+. Going to guess that they have 12-14k miles left in them for winter driving. Price is $250 for the set with pickup only from...
..."heavy duty" pads are, or if now, a year later, there are some good aftermarket options available. But a decent set of high temperature brakepads should certainly last more than a couple of days at the track. OE, yeah, probably not.
I'll just throw this out there for s&g; many years ago I...
