Quality water heater installed instead of the garbage whirlpool the house came with. Yay!
Anyway, got some time with the new throttle body in and everything plugged in right. While it isn’t perfectly scientific, I got to do some 60-90 pulls with my gps running. It is t the fastest gps but still...
Replacing my hot water heater this morning but I’ll have her out this afternoon to see what it’s like. I can already say the throttle tip in is a good bit sharper until the boost fell off. Feels a bit more similar to cars I’ve owned with ITB’s than previously. More direct throttle action? Which...
Close! It was the line on the passenger corner of the vacuum assembly that wasn’t seated right. It was making me crazy! You got me on the right track. Thank you!
The one hidden behind the one mentioned. Hallelujah!
Got the drive cycles done and no more codes! Still reporting 6 lbs of boost but it feels quick so I’m not sure what’s up with that. I’ll dig around and make sure I didn’t make any other mistakes. Car work and sleep dep aren’t the best combination. I should really remember that at this age...
Okay, so I had some time to get the throttle body installed on an otherwise stock Blackwing and figured this would be a good place to chronicle the results and one dumb issue in case anyone else runs across it in the future.
First bit to note for anyone installing, the quick connects for the...
I'd certainly be interested in an upgrade like this. Tell me more. Direct bolt on? It sounds like it. Better response would be great as I've been running autocross and any little bit of boost to on/off throttle response is worth valuable tenths for me lol. Any idea if it's going to tick off the...
When the carbon fiber drive shaft comes out for the cars that'll be something that causes no CEL and has a noticeable performance bump. Shouldn't screw with your warranty either. Hard to argue something causing less stress on the system caused an issue. Plus with the trans being so stout it...
Did the front half and mirrors. I think I'm going to get the rear quarters done as well since that's been an area I've smacked a few cones. No damage so far but I know it's just a matter of time before there's a scratch. Funny thing the rear just seems to step out on its own like it wants to...
I'll be looking forward to that day. One of the few mods that seems unlikely to cause issues with warranty that should have some noticeable impact on performance. Anything to up the agility on the 4 which already seems supernatural given the size/weight of the car. I stand by it feels more like...
Anyone have some news on the production of a CF driveshaft for the 4BW? I know the ATS-V had one available so I'd *think* it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to get that changed slightly to fit into the new cars. With the high power of the unlocked ECU's seems like that'll be something that's...
Mine is heading back to TapOut. I'm not entirely sure I'll buy into revision 2 (if it appears) if I get burned on shipping both ways. The ever evolving story from no CEL... to some few people... to any time it's cold. It's certainly moved me to the wait much longer and see camp.
So from the testing this weekend, my garage stays a bit over 60 degrees and after multiple clear cycles, it's still showing up even starting from the garage each time.
In response to why the lid instead of the JB4, it sounded like a CEL free way to get some extra horses and looked more or less...
For me it was in the 40 to low 50 degree range that it popped on. Going to give clearing a try and a few starts from my 60 degree garage and see if that keeps the codes away. If not I'll be removing it and returning until there's a fix. It's not worth possibly losing the warranty over. Kills me...
