A Little-V Blog: The ATS-V purchase and ownership experience

The Volt was the only car I ever leased. New technology that we didn't want to get stuck with if it didn't work out. So, we leased. It turned out to be a very good car. Our electric bill went up about 5-bucks a month and that included charging it every night. If you were to buy a Volt, your...

A Little-V Blog: The ATS-V purchase and ownership experience

Had a volt. Might still have it if Ally hadn't wanted so much for it at the end of the lease. The Volt was a good car and did everything GM promised it would do. Susan had a 37 mile round trip every day. Our Volt was rated for 35 miles on a charge but regularly got more than that. Susan went...

Double Wow! The bad luck you've been having with your ATS's is incredible. Did you check the tires on the BB? Does it have the same alignment set-up? Same tires? It's no wonder you don't have much hair on the top of you head. ;)

    Showing off

Speed Wagon posed for a photographer over the weekend. Here's one of the shots. It still looks pretty good for a 7 year, 9 month old car with 42,000+ miles

I'll knock on a little wood for you also. I guess GM isn't in any hurry to find out why your engine gets oil in the turbo.

    Oh No!

I had the coolant changed but didn't think about the intercooler back then. Oh well.

    Oh No!

Oh Yeah! All is good again. Not cheap but the V Wagon is worth it.

    Oh No!

It is a simple fix but not cheap. The heat exchanger (radiator) is leaking and must be replaced. BTW, my dealer loaned me an XT5 while my V Wagon is in the shop. I've been wanting to test drive one just to see if the big SUV might be something I would want. The answer is NO! The XT5 is huge...

    Oh No!

Over the weekend, I noticed that the intercooler coolant was a little low. So I added some. Only to have some of it leak out under the nose of the V Wagon. I get down on my hands and knees and I see that the intercooler radiator is wet on the bottom. So, the V Wagon is at my favorite...

Just wondering - is it possible that the oil feed to the turbos is under too much pressure, causing the oil to bypass the seals there?

    Spring Cleaning

Even though my V Wagon never gets much time off, it hasn't been cleaned properly since winter set in last year. So, today was cleaning day. Washed it, vacuumed it, checked it over. Here are some pictures to prove it. 7 years, 4 months old - ~40,000 miles 6-sp manual, no sun roof Only...

Forgeline - they are beautiful wheels and very strong. The problem is that they are too far out of the budget for a street driven car for most people. Guess I'll just have to have to use my factory wheels a while longer.

Hib: Do you think all the twin-turbo Caddy's have oil problems? ATS-V and Vsports? de Nysschen: He came from Audi and it set on making Cadillac into an Audi clone. Name changes to letters and numbers - except for the Escalade. Cadillac headquarters is in New York now. I don't think that is...

    V-Day in Yukon, OK

V-Day in OKC area It was another V-Day in west Oklahoma City today. I saw a black V2 coupe and a white V3 while tooling around in my V2 Wagon. Didn't get to wave at any of them. Oh well.
