Break in oil change at 1355 mi, PF63 back on and 7qts of Pennz UltraPlat 5w-30. I did not reset the oil life monitor and will take it to the dealer for the freebie with ~20-25% remaining, its at 81% right now.
Only thing that was lame was apparently the PF63's have a relatively flimsy body and...
Welcome and congrats on the 4BW!
The thread mentioned above for hardwiring a radar detector will tap you in to 12v power, if your dashcam takes 5v USB then I would look elsewhere for a power source.
I hung up on or walked out of any dealer charging over MSRP on a 4BW. Sewell of Dallas does more Blackwing business than anyone I could find and were easy from start to finish. I paid msrp, their dealer doc fees are super low, and the silly little protection package you cant wiggle out of at...
But the other half of that question / answer is, how does one get their vehicle equipped with this feature? Some have it apparently and others do not. So where does it come from and how does it end up on some cars and not others?
All I can find in the manual is the use of the phrase "if equipped" immediately following any mention of the locking fuel door. I just went to go build out a 4BW on Cadillac to see if there is any package or option that includes this feature and I dont see one. So now Im even more confused.
Sweet, seemed too good to be true and the jaded part of me was suspicious there was a catch. Ill deposit them tomorrow and call it gas and oil change money.
I ran used oil analysis on the LS3 in my SS every oil change on Pennzoil Platinum and they all came back pristine when changed at 25-30% oil life remaining. Ill be bumping up to Ultra Platinum on this car due to the turbos and Ill send in an oil sample after the dealer freebie to see whats...
Has anyone gotten a check or checks in the mail from the dealer after purchase? I just got 2 checks from Sewell Cadillac of Dallas, first for $7.56 as a "refund for overage on vehicle inventory tax".
Second check was for $470 as a "GM price protection rebate"
Near as I can tell these are legit...
After multiple snow storms, weeks away for work, and rain for the last 3 days, I got some nice seat time with a well spirited drive. Was the first time I pushed it a bit and was pretty pleased with how sharp and composed this thing is.
After, gave it a much needed wash and put her to bed for...
'23 4BW fuel door does not lock. I just locked the car with the key fob, placed the key fob in the house, and can open the fuel door. The trunk and passenger doors remain locked.
While I only just got around to this mod today in my 4BW, this was one of the first threads I dove in to since hardwiring my R7 was a priority from day 1...so much so that in lieu of hardwiring, I actually traveled to the dealer in Dallas with 2x of those weird 6v camping batteries that I wired...
My plan for my 4BW is to do a oil change myself at 1500mi with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and a OE PF63 filter but then not reset the oil life monitor. Then Ill get the dealer freebie change around 25% life remaining and run that free one until about 40% before settling in to a more regular change...
So I removed the plastic engine cover to get a better angle on the clamp screw, loosened it, pushed the hose up flush against the piece it mounts over, and tightened the clamp back down where it should be. It was definitely out of position, there is a metal tab on the backside of the clamp clips...
I got home after 2 weeks away for work and was just sort of looking over the engine compartment on my 4BW to get a feel for the layout and how tough certain tasks might be. I was trying to get a look at the turbos and noticed this hose on the passenger side. The hose clamp does not appear to be...
Per the manual, those duct fins are for track use only and I would think that a couple laps on a road course would be well within the capabilities of the brakes without them. I guess if you want dust and rocks and whatever else is on the road directed directly at your brakes you could leave them...
I found during my search near the end of '22 that 95% of those listings are for vehicles already allocated and are used to generate contact info / sales leads. I still get phone calls and emails from dealers seeing if Im interested in what they have.
The LS3 in my '17 SS still had marginally high aluminum as late as 11k mi. Every oil change since then was perfect until I sold it at 51k so I just chalked it up to a lengthy full break in.
