CT5-V Battery voltage at idle and while driving seems low

Seems normal. Range at idle could be anywhere between 12.5-13.5 so I would keep an eye on it. The voltage will go up as you rev it, that’s normal as RPMs go up. Quick test, at idle turn on all of your accessories and watch the voltage (ac, head lights, radio) and see if it drops below 12.5. I’ll...

    4BW died at 1500 miles

I’ve had a battery on my Hellcat test fine multiple times at the dealer that tested bad on my charger at home and at a local auto part store. Replacing it corrected my random no start and stalling issues. A bad battery will cause your car to stall, die, or not start. I’m not saying you don’t...

    4BW died at 1500 miles

Bad alternator and a bad battery. Defective battery could’ve damaged the alternator or vice versa. Should be a pretty straight forward repair. Happens but definitely repairable.

CT5-V Squeaking noise when pulling away from a stop or throttle at low RPM

There you go. Both my BWs made that same noise. ZL1 Camaros same thing. Air through the TB makes sense. I thought maybe it was the SC pulley engaging. Good to know.

Who Wants the First Corsa CT5-V Blackwing Exhaust System?

I like the Corsa polished tips. Don’t like blacked out exhaust tips.

    Pressure Washing

Never touch Vinyl with a pressure washer. You’ll cause the vinyl to start lifting. Pressure wash around the vinyl, only hand wash in those areas.

CT5-V Squeaking noise when pulling away from a stop or throttle at low RPM

If you hear a squeak/squeal coming from the engine when blipping the throttle in first gear it’s normal for the SC’d LT4 to make this squeak. This is common in all Camaros and Blackwings. I think it’s the SC engaging. Both my 6MT 5BW’s did it and it could be heard really good when entering my...

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

I’ve see all kinds of reports that say EV cost of ownership is near 0 and/or EV cost of ownership is way higher than ICE cars, pollution high, pollution low, blah, blah, blah. You can make data say anything you want with an agenda. In the end, I think it’s good to have alternative modes of...

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

We had an Etron for a couple of years and loved it. Range sucked though at 202 miles during the summer. My wife wanted a hybrid because of the combined range so we went with an X5 50e. The X5 has 40 miles of straight electric range which works well for a daily commuter. In 2.5 years of ownership...

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

I was eyeing a Porsche Taycan Turbo S for a while. The reviews on it give it very high praise. That nutball Elon Musk pulled the rug out of EV market pricing when he slashed prices on all new Teslas. The Porsche Taycan and every other EV’s prices tanked. I was hoping the Taycan Turbo S market...

    Paint Chip - Help

I would put the touch up paint on it and not worry about it. Try paintscratch.com for touchup paint if you're having trouble finding it at the dealer. I'm pretty sure Rapid blue is Chevy's name for Electric blue....

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

I have a 5BW mine took 9.5 to fill. Are you checking it cold first thing in the morning or are you checking after the engine has been at temp?
